What, you don't like spending your first 30+ levels looking like a burlap bag? Silly casters.

I might be crazy with this insane idea... but what if glamour was restricted to classes/levels your character has, want a mage in tank gear? do it! but you need to have both high enough level to do so. Needs fine tuning for like AF gears (a BLM in PLD AF lol). but i think this works great, another incentive to use the class changing system.
Also, this is entirely selfish because my PLD would look amazing in the healer CT royal gear.

Exactly lol, but i'm pretty sure -._-. If a lalafell can wear tank gear then so can we ( non lala races lol )I don't think I'm against this. The game seems to follow the logic that everyone can wear cloth, but you need special strength or skills to wear heavier armor like mail or plate--skills and strength that only certain classes and jobs are capable of. This makes sense to me, but I wouldn't be against some special sets of armor-like gear that mages can wear, similar to the lightsteel set, which flat out admits in the name that its not heavy armor. Lightsteel.
Also that logic says whm roes cannot wear a measly piece of metal despite their hulkish build? Xc
Might aswell put lightsteel in every new metal vanity piece cuz it's like the only way now for DoM
.-___-.
I had my vanity set nigh exactly the same as the DRG in OPs image.
Seems it's spreading around.
Edit: SS included.

It's all class gear, not mage gear ^^
All what SE need to do is turning some DoW gears also into all class gears, at least the crafted ones.
Like the shirts. It is clothes, why is it DoW only since ARR?
Here you can see a CNJ in shirts from behind
and here in an Acton:

You know what I meant! XDD I know the item description says "All classes" (hence the problem imo) but, because the stat bonuses are for mage classes, I called it 'mage gear' instead of the lengthy 'gear that can be worn by everyone for some reason even though the stat bonuses are for mage classes rather than DoW and tank classes gear'. XDDDD
Thanks for the pics btw, good to know it was available before in 1.0. :3 I like the look of the Acton!
