Look, ultimately you are going to realize like many others that constantly correcting people in how to speak to you is going to be more effort than it's worth. I used to correct people about how to refer to me but after the umpteenth time with only the barest of changes in how the discussion continued afterwards I felt it wasn't changing anything to make the distinction and just let the conversations flow where they may. I spent too long fretting over the inconsequential when I could have just had fun. But, as a parting thought, how often have you met a man with a girl's name? I don't mean a man undergoing gender reassignment, I mean just a man. More often than not it's a rarity and is almost always greeted with, "Wow, you must hate your parents." (a male relative of mine was named Billie, yes with an -ie, and was picked on alot as a kid, so that should tell you something)

To those who keep saying "Well they don't know" I already suggested using "They" which is gender neutral, third person, and is in fact grammatically correct as both singular and plural. (Not to mention, half the people in this thread haven't bothered with decent punctuation and you're gonna argue proper grammar is of importance in the game?)

Ah I understand now, I hate when stuff happens in game that I hate in real life, like this morning I was running some simple chore for someone, and a fish person hit me with water, I walked slow for 20 seconds, damn I hate when that happens.

Since we should go by what can be grammatically correct, if we are referring to your character, realize that the character is really just a bunch of pixels, so calling you character it would be just as if not more correct than referring to your character as he, she, or they.

Took me a while, but now I'm convinced it's troll. Got me.

You want respond to that too? What should I add to it? I agree with most things that you say in that post, there is nothing to comment. The reason I use feminine coded here is because how names are usually written in MMORPGs. A person named Emelie I would assume is a female if I read the name. I might be wrong tough on and in case I am I correct that but should I call everyone it before I have seen their avatars? Sure I might do, but it feels very impersonal.

Other than that I agree with what you say, but my issue is the fact that people calls obviously female avatars "he". You can circumvent that part with any ramble you want to. But understand that that is the core of this argument.

For everyones information: I know Kim is a male name aswell, but I did not know it was common to call them Kimmy, I though that was almost* exclusive to females.

*as in that cases exists and that there are cases when they are but that the majority was female so that the logical conclusion would be that the character is female

It is stupid however that you pick everything to talk about except the core of the discussion: That people call female avatars he.

"They" is very much only plural, look in any dictionary. The correct phrasing is he/she. I'm asking this completely in a non sarcastic and very serious manner manner: would you prefer people using he/she? I do use that sometimes, but not always. I wouldn't mind using that more often, but when I call people generically "he" I mean no offense to anyone, it's kind of a catch all, similar to calling humanity "Mankind"

Can a mod just lock this already? The OP refuses to acknowledge this is only a problem to them because of their individual circumstances and that each and every player that referred to them as a he did it innocently with no knowledge that the OP used to be a man and is bothered by being called he. The OP also refuses to acknowledge that it's only bugging them because they let it do so and we've all offered solutions that didn't require the entire community bending over backwards for one person only to be ignored and called sexist.

Aside from that it's also beginning to degrade into just arguments by other posters offering very little if any constructive debate and discussion.

I'm also pretty sure this has just been one super long troll.

And I think it's stupid that this is the point of contention in the large, vast world of complications non-binary gender identity stuff has. "This is where I draw the line." Seems really goofy when you still have to check one of two boxes on your physician's documentation.

Yeah, the discussions that are continuing are starting to degrade into arguments and Kimmy is just brushing off anyone that isn't 'nodding knowingly' at their replies. I don't see this thread getting better before it gets worse, either.
