I just go off character sex, but I've been playing these games since I was I child I don't even notice anymore are I barely talk to the dungeon randoms as they are rarely on my server
Because I know males that play female characters and females that play male characters, I try to use character names when referring to someone. It keeps it simple.
This one has a massive headache from the reading of this thread.
Why is it so hard for so many people to understand someone's sensitivities? One day in life you will feel strongly about something that the rest of the world probably doesn't give two shits about.
You know what makes it easier? Compassionate people who will respect sensitivities even if it means nothing to them. It's called basic interaction with human beings 101, a course that it seems a lot people around these forums missed out on.

Coddling people and giving merit to their (over)sensitivities is what causes people like the OP to act so entitled in the first place. People need to stop getting offended by every minute little thing that happens to them.
If people were told to "Suck it up!" a little more and "Ah, you poor thing!" a little less, the world would be a better place.
I just take a page out of the Sylphs' book and call everybody "that one".
