Doesn't compute to me of why it is that way. Even knowing it 's RNG still doesn't make sense why it drops so easily for some and not for others. I think my brain is just trying to rationalize the irrational.i wouldnt be opposed to them selling the atma pieces for GC seals along with the random drops.
maybe put a hefty price tag on them like 45k or whatever the max is. after all, seals are about the only thing of value that a lvl 50 gets from FATES anyways. im sure they could figure out something reasonable that would more or less equal the amount of time they expected most people to get their atmas
just my opinion. luckily i got my atma weapon fairly painlessly. some of my friends havent been as fortunate tho and still only have 2-3 atmas >.<
I know some might see this idea of too much a major nerf, but bare with me! Remember this is only book 1 so not game breaking.
Trial of fire book 1- defeat ifrit hard mode in only your atma weapon and artifact armor (repeat for trial of wind, earth book 1)
Book 2 - bring your jobs weapon from Garuda, Titan and ifrit and 500myth per book so 500 for titan etc (means their weps have a use again)
Book 3- no myth needed, but defeat say ifrit extreme while equipped with ifrits cudgel (for BLM) (again repeat for other primals)
It would kill several birds with one stone, primal weapons will have a purpose, the myth grind won't be so bad, and for one fight at least you get to remember what that AF armor set looked like
RNG is a gamble, think of CT drops for example; All the times you probably saw the MNK or DRG gear drop but maybe never saw another class/job's gear drop nearly as much. That is exactly how it works except the drop rate for these are as rare as fighting a boss 100 times and maybe never getting his rare gear drops once while another person got one piece 4 times. It's all about luck and they put the drop rate for Atmas at such a low rate that people feel like the system is broken but the reason they did that was because they didn't want people to get it too fast.
I don't think seals would of been the best bet either because if you noticed the moment 2.2 dropped, Potash and other former myth items were being bought clean off the mb then insta restocked, there were people who had literally 150k seals saved up just waiting to use them all up when content like that dropped.
