Not what you're probably thinking of. I just had this thought about a set of weekly quests that require certain races and/or genders to be in your party (4-man, 8-man groups, if not 2). It would bolster interactivity with others, provided the rewards were well-due (increased gil, tomes, rare items?)

One in particular, involving the Monk temple and the Fist of Ralghr, called "U Mad Bro?" Where at the final boss, if you had a male Hyur Highlander in the group (which would be necessary to do the quest) said character would become confused during the boss battle, so you'd have to deal with one of your own members coming after you while dealing with the boss/AoE/etc. Maybe even throw in some non-fighting mechanics where you have to activate and control a certain machine in order to weaken the boss but have to keep the confused member from attacking the person utilizing said mechanic in order to do so?

Just a thought. Maybe you guys have other ideas you'd like to chime in with?

Generally speaking, you don't increase community participation and integration by making arbitrary racial/gender requirements. That goes for in game and out of game.

The idea just came as I saw how awesome it was to have to actually interact with other players to finish the Valentine's quests. I just think it'd be nice to have more of a sense of community than "o i need 3-7 moar ppl 2 dunjun" etc.

Then I suppose we'll have to disagree on wether arbitrary is a good thing..

There's a huge difference between 'need two more people' and 'need two more male Miqo'te.' And not for the better.

I can understand how it might cause a bit of alienation though. I would just like to see more of a community interaction within the game as a whole. It wouldn't even have to be for dungeon-type/related quests either. Could just be some mini-games, etc. The race might not even have to come into play either. It'd be nice to have some unique opportunities to learn more about the lore of the game as well.

That's sort of funny, but at the same time, it doesn't have the "obviously trolling" feel behind it.
Like the all DRG, ilvl95, know the fight or KICK, serious play Sastasha runs.

That said, this game is already annoying to get a party together, so adding restrictions on things like class and race is going to do little more than add annoyance.

Balmung has several lalafell only FCs, at least one of which I trolled for an hour in Outer La Noscea, where they were trying to recruit in shout chat. I was trying to rally the server to 'million man march' against the 'racist organization.'

It was fun.

Well I'm thinking new quests for ALL races/sexes. With some nifty payouts due to the "restrictions" on them, but just something that promotes community interaction and "less than desirable" party formations. It might help those who need it to learn to play their jobs better and those who are already well enough at theirs some leisurely time with an interesting payout. But at least something different. It feels like people are only doing the same 3 "quests" over and over.

Whats funny is you rarely see any other race doing this. Ppl who play lala are...well...nvm

Frankly imo they could just get rid of the lala race, Eorzea would be all the better for it

This has never happened on Mateus. Ever. If it has, I never bothered with it. People who are that close-minded aren't even worth the time and hassle.
