Egis are already immune or have very high resistance to many mechanics.Honestly, I think they should just make the Egi's effectively immune to everything but ST attacks. Having to micromanage placement of your summons in order to avoid them dying doesn't really add anything to the game. I think it's fine to micromanage placement for offensive purposes, but having to do so to keep them alive is just tedious (esp since they can't do anything while you're moving them around).
I agree that the best way to "fix" the Egis is to give them their own optimal situation, though I think it would be better to split it up with Ifrit being the multi-target Egi (give his basic attack a DoT component on top of the basic damage so he ends up getting a benefit for bouncing between targets) and Garuda being the single target. You would want to use Ifrit any time you have multiple targets reasonably close to each other but Garuda for pretty much all of the others.
