Now then, based on just the interaction between you and I, I'm sure anyone looking at us talking is going to have more of an understanding of why people keep pushing for NMs. Hell, I saw a post earlier when someone deliberately asked what the big deal was about them.

I'm not arguing against you at all (you can actually see I post in favor of this kind of stuff, specifically NMs). If the OP would have said something like this in the original post, with an emphasis on the danger of it being a boss, rare loot, etc, I'm preeeetty sure you wouldn't see nearly as many negative responses. This is what I keep trying to get anyone that is an advocate of FF11 to understand.

Someone has interpreted it as a griefing mechanic that is just there to mess up your day for being distracted. For that person, I think they don't actually come wandering around openly antagonizing you or anything, but if you see them, there would be a pretty obvious indicator that you might want to stay away and not openly bother it without being prepared. Personally, I would like for something moderately challenging that I can stumble upon and get something out of it other than Gil/Seals.

When people see the value of something they are always more open to the idea. Most of the threads that want an idea from FF11 back do almost nothing at all to bring the value of the idea, why you want it back, and why anyone else should. The way a developer sees a game is going to be different from everyone else; putting a menu in one spot is going to be entirely logical to them, and sometimes make no sense from the perspective of the customer; if they don't know the "why" it ain't gonna happen. This is why FF11 threads get negative feedback.

I know what you were getting at, as I've had this conversation with other FF11 players before, but that was my point; the majority of people don't know. I like Rares / Elites / NMs / Dailies, etc. I'd like to see them in the game, personally. I'm sure other people wouldn't be opposed if they could see what they brought to the table. Like I said before, my only beef with them is the claim system.
