I like running into the fray. Only if I fail, is when I ask questions. It's thrilling when you have surprises. By all means, I don't do it to "Waste people's time" But I like to plot my own strategies. Video's, for me at least, ruin the fun of the fight for me.

Watching a video before a fight should never be a requirement in a game, don't you guys agree it's really silly?
Yes. What you said! I concur 100%. Every time I hear "Watch a video" Before even walking into the place... Is like going to google and reading about the end of a movie you want to see. I usually say "YeaH I saw it, I'm ready" and go with the flow. It's not hard following other people. Either you run out or stack. Get out of pretty circles, and if you're a target to a bad thing, run away from the group. WIN.

And since there is latency, you will get hit by plumes/landslides on Titan, dashes from Leviathan, Delta Attack from Moogles, Divebombs/Twister from Twintania, etc, etc, etc.

It gets just a bit more complex than that at 50, at worst, I highly suggest reading a written strategy that tells you what to look out for without really giving away the story aspect of the fights, cause trust me, you will get extreme amounts of flak if you don't at least have some preparation with fights like extreme primals or harder coil turns(First coil is stupidly easy, uptil turn 5 at least, no pressing need to get too much info there, but it does help make the fights easier, on you and your party).

    As far as preparing for fights beforehand goes;

    All dungeons - no need.
Ifrit HM - no real need. If you're a caster, you need to be aware of your responsibilities with the limit break (if this method is employed).
Garuda HM - Tanks need to know positions.
Titan HM - Knowing how to deal with bombs is important. Healers (and tanks to a lesser degree) need to know when Mountain Buster and Tumults happen in the last phase.
Leviathan HM - Can be done blind with no problems.
Moogle HM - Can be done with minimal information.
Gilgamesh - Can be done blind with no problems.
Garuda EX - You need a rough idea of what to do and where to stand. DPS can do this mostly blind; tanks cannot. Healers are somewhere in-between.
Titan EX - You cannot do this blind; you need a good idea of all of the mechanics.
Ifrit EX - You need a rough idea. DPS can do this mostly blind; healers definitely cannot. Tanks are somewhere inbetween.
Leviathan EX - You need to know how the dives etc work.
Moogle EX - You need to know how this fight works. Healers must be ready to cleanse or die.
Coil T1 - can be done mostly blind, as long as you know about the slimes and splits on the snake.
Coil T2 - can be done blind enrage mode, can be done mostly blind non-enrage.
    Coil T3 - lol
Coil T4 - Tanks cannot do this blind. DPS need to have some idea of what to do. Healing this is more about co-ordination than knowledge and can be done mostly blind.
Coil T5 - Do not attempt this blind. Everyone needs to know exactly what to do.
Coil T6+ - You need to know these fights beforehand.

If I then don't know exactly what to do for my specific job, I search for a video showing the fight from DRG (for example) perspective. That video(s) doesn't have to be detailed in how the fight works, I just use it to see a more detailed view of what to expect as that specific job.

I then start by doing it through DF if possible, and do the best I can. After a couple of DF runs, with pretty good results for being first tries, I can then move on the using PF.
i have used this exact same method for clearing primals and it hasnt failed me once.
