    PS4 doesn't operate on DX11. It's a different API that has equivalent features. PS4 is nearly identical to the PC version on maximum settings settings. Yoshida only mentioned that the the processing of the shadows is slightly different. The PC directx 11 version will be different that will include more features available from DX11. He did mentioned using shadow, lighting and reflections features. I don't know if he mentioned any other features that it will use.

    I'm glad to hear that it's is aimed for before years end. I was expecting it next year based on previous comments.

    I don't think dx11 will be as awesome as it could be in ffxiv, but it's a better than nothing deal. I also fully expect quite a few bugs out of it for awhile. I do remember at one point they had mentioned hi res textures, but the was renegged into lighting effects. I just wish the terrain in the distance would be touched up. That ceiling in T1 is absolutely atrocious.

    I'm not expecting a lot from it too. It should have some improved performance at least. Ya I remembered mention about hi res textures in beta, however that's under NDA. Did that really happen?

    NDA=Not Doing Anything?

    I am still excited for the 64bit client and dx11 when it gets here. I will take whatever performance they can squeeze out of this game. It would be nice if they were setting it up for dx12 in secret too. I am wondering if they held off on dx11 for the recent announcements of dx12. After all, the industry knew about it years ago and it's starting to 'wrap up' now. No reason AMD or nvidia wouldn't drop SE a hint about it. Got my tinfoil hat on. LOL although I remember when nvidia was a 'partner' in 1.0 but after the game tanked, it was removed from nvidia's website, just recently being readded.
