    Thats not even including getting paralyzed. Melee have instant attacks thus they are slightly affected, as where a caster can be stunlocked for the entire duration. how many times before the turn 2 nerf when high voltage would hit the group and im almost 20 seconds unable to deal dps with my rotation because every time im close to casting a spell bam, paralyzed , cast again, paralyzed and again and again causing me to lose astral fire, or not doing crap at all. If anything i do love how the healers in my group give me priority on taking off any paralysis effects on me as they know how much it can potentially cripple a blm.

    You may have issues with monk but the people who i play with decimate the dps as monk or dragoon, especially on these new turns. there is no comparing the dps both melee are very solid and in the hands of capable players they do much more than you think they can.

    I don't have issues with my monk, thanks. I'm more concerned about people not willing to let melees join their parties because is "easier" to stack melees. It happened in 1.0 and it was a damn nightmare

    Forgetting Astral buff isn't the least of the issues. It's the negligence of everything just to bring up something else that isn't being neglected.

    Uh, my bad, i wanted to say "is easier to stack ranged". Yeah, i can make my own parties... if i don't care to have to wait around 2 hours to get a full party... how bad i can play 3 hours each day and i have to do dailies/roulettes... no.

    And it has to be something, because you never see a party with 3 melees (Titan is the exception i see). Every single "hard battle" with more than one melee is always like "ugh... .2/3 melees... we're gonna wipe". Please, can you explain me that? People is just stupid and thinks melees are useless just because good melees are rare?

    And there you go again with the negligence.

    Answer is simple, elitism. And yes good "people" are rare especially when "decent players" are tossed aside because of elitist mentality. Parsers and the current end game take on difficulty spikes don't help the situation if fact it only worsens it.

    Regardless an optimal set up is usually 2 melee (drg/mnk/brd) and 2 ranged (brd/blm/smn) because of diversity.

    SE's focus for jobs is balance and they've done a very good job with it. They want every job to be viable in every piece of content. If BLM is becoming nonviable due to the way they're balancing their incoming content, then they will adjust BLM. However, SE does not control its playerbase for PvE content like they do with PvP. That is, they don't force 1 ranged and 1 melee (or 2/2) for their PvE content.

    You have to find fault with the playerbase for your no-melee party issue, not the BLM job.

    The only battle where I have really found this to be true is Garuda Ex (and maybe T4 without the balance in melee and magic). If it's happening in other fights then it's just elitism as the other poster put it.

    Even if it was the case for all endgame fights, the solution would not be to buff melee, it would be to change the design of bosses.
