Mounting your Chocobo when it's already out for Companion status.

This is only for Chocobos as they can fight beside you as a physical ally. The way it is now - you use the whistle, the chocobo disappears, reappearing under you and off you go. Rather, why not, if the chocobo is already out, your character actually Jumps up on it's back instead? It's a simple thing, more of a "immersion" type of thing I suppose. The idea would suit things like the Horses as well, if they appeared beside you when called, your hand reaches up into their mane, you grab then swing yourself up on their back. Naturally this method wouldn't work for all mount types, such as the Goobbue, Behemoth, Flying Mounts, etc. But for the more "realistic" type of mounts, it would.

Teach your models at SE how to jump on horseback! lol
I think this could be implemented in a way that you will always mount your Chocobo when using the Chocobo Whistle. The Chocobo could come running towards you (for instance like you call your horse in Assassin’s Creed), stop right beside you and you swing yourself on it’s back. If the Chocobo is already out as an companion, then it can take a few steps towards you and have the same animation.

The same goes for dismounting. Right now, the Chocobo dashes off and disappears while you “fall to the ground”. You could have a dismount animation, where you give the Chocobo a slight tap on the back where it will then dash off towards town.

To make it even more “exciting” for the animators, i would love to have a little random element to the mounting/dismounting of your chocobo. For instance where you grab the reins, pat it on the head and then mount it or send it off to the stables.
