    There will be new main content to rank up?

    With the new leves reform, these will be more centered to solo play, but the most of time we play in party (it's funnier isn't), now without leves to do in party we don't have the main way to get SP.

    Do you think dungeons will be the new main way to rank up or there will be a new content?, I think we need a main content to rank up, but in XII letter yoshi-p wrote:

    Personally I look forward to new content and systems going forward. What I want to see is:
    1. Party EXP and play is rewarded more then Solo (Parties should still be the prefered method to level.
    2. Many ways for parties to level up, being dungeons, Large Scale PvE, etc.
    3. New systems for parties simular to Conquest, and Campaign from XI (just an example) something that gets both the player and the party into the world and feel like they are making a difference.
    4. Quests built for parties, with reqwards, arcs, story and cut scenes, that also give players good rewards for doing them.
    5. Dynamic content and systems, that could tie into systems like Conquest, and Campaign between the different companites. Where fights break out all over the map and players get involved.
    6. Systems like public quests, or public events (simular to other MMOs on the market)
    7. And, I would love for Monsters to try and attack the cities, they can be scripted fights, but it would also give the NPCs something to do then just to stand around. It shouldn't happen each day, but it would be nice to see this type of dynamic content introduced into the world. For one it would make the world feel less safe, and that's a good thing.

    Balance will always need to be looked at and adjusted, but the more the "grid" can be hidden the better.

    I for one, hope that mob farming parties make it's way back into the fold, would love to setup camp and kill mobs in fun and interesting setups, where the mobs don't go down in just a few hits, but take some strategy.

    They said Dungeons will have cooldowns I believe, not sure what they are but if they do they will not really be valid ways to level up as a party since they are 60mins. It can be an outlet for leveling yes, but what about the other 23hrs a day.

    My guess is the main way to progress in group will be to simply go out and kill things in the field like in XI now from what I am reading.

    All I know is they better not screw up the party based leveling... or a large part of the existing player base is probably going to leave in a big exodus. Party focus was the one thing keeping this game alive, everything else is done 20 fold better in another mmo.

    It is a mmo it should always be focused with group game play... with the option to solo for less rewards and slower growth. I hope Yoshida does not forget that.

    Hopefully the 15 to 30 minute respawn timers for open world mobs will get an adjustment as well as the raising the 10 rank diff SP cap. Otherwise we'll all want to gouge our eyes out with spoons by the time we hit 50.

    It's possible that the quest hubs, first mentioned in letter IX, may have content for group play.

    Something they announced a while ago sounded like they were going to use the outlying settlements for these kind of events.

    Didn't they mention in an interview that they'd like to add a level 10-18 introductory dungeon?

    I'm going to assume that dungeons and behests (and hamlet defense and other group PVE things) are going to make up the core of group leveling in the future, since they're moving away from grinding.

    He said no one item is going to be "central" way of progression anymore. That said, simply replacing leves with something even more pointless to act as the "main way" to progress would not make any sense.

    You'll be grinding something else instead. It's not going anywhere, but the options to do so will probably increase.

    It's PR talk and means little at the end of the day.

    Yes, of course, there's always going to be a grind. That's unavoidable in a game with character progression. I think what he meant though -- and what most people mean by grind -- is that he wants to step away from just killing with no lore or item or monetary rewards, and no objective or goal beyond simply getting experience.
