Guy gamers who play girl characters

Just for the sake of being provocative... you aren't just looking at a character, you're controlling a character. You control most of her movements, attire, hair, and expressions. This could imply either that you're projecting some of yourself into the character and/or you enjoy making a female puppet for your viewing (and exploiting) pleasure. The first thing creeps out some folks, but I don't think that it should. I do find the second thing mildly creepy, though.

Anyway, the reason i almost always pick a female char in mmo's is cause i generally play casters and a female caster just seem to fit better then a dude in robes.

Nah, I'm being provocative because I'm bored.

But really, I do find the "because I like to look at a cute butt" reasoning kinda creepy. Of course you do, most folks are some-type-of-sexual and do this regardless. But to put so much time, energy, and creativity into an inanimate object to fetishize it...kinda creepy to me.*

I've met a few on FFXIV, and I'm so curious...Why play a girl character in game if you are a guy IRL? I guess the same question for girls who play guys. Not looking to troll, just genuinely wondering.

I guess because I view my character as a representation of myself, I play a guy in game because I am a guy IRL. So I'd like to understand the reasons why others would make a different choice.

Do you use Cammy/Chun-li on Street Fighter? Jill Valentine on Resident Evil?

Also...I played a lot of MMORPG already and noticed...

Male options, in 70% of MMORPGs, r divided into Metrossexual and Barbarian styles, and usually way too far....u hardly have really good options to make really a cool character.
Female on other hand usually have more well worked options...
