This is what is always claimed, but I call shenanigans.

CT gear stats you very poorly for Coil. It's only good for grinding the endgame dungeons and CT itself. There's no substitute for Coil other than top gear bought with tomestones, crafted and overmelded gear, and Coil gear combined.

If you use a set of CT and look at the stats, you will see some interesting things, like bad parry ratings on tanks, insufficient accuracy for dps, or a bad mixture of crit and spell speed for healers but no weighting of one or the other. In other words, it's nice for vanity but definitely not good for Coil. Don't be fooled by the higher ilvl! DL will serve you better in the first Coil, till you get the proper tomestone gear and first Coil drops...
