Atma weapon is just a inbetween step between Zenith and Animus. Like the unfinished relict weapon during the first relict quest.

Would Atma keep ilevel 90 it would get the new stats not until all books are finished and the weapon get upgraded to Animus. But because the Atma is already ilevel 100 it can get the new stats the moment the first book is finished.
Well, the funny thing is… The Unfinished Curtana was iLevel 50, the Curtana was iLevel 80 and the Curtana Zenith was iLevel 90. So, making the Curtana Atma iLevel 100 and keeping it iLevel 100 for the Curtana Animus doesn’t really make that much sense, since the stats of the Atma are the same as the Zenith (making you think the Atma weapon should have the same iLevel of 90-ish and steadily increase it with each book you complete).

Also, when you look at the masterworks weapons, you have a Weathered version with an iLevel of 100 and after “upgrading” it, you end up with an iLevel 110 weapon.

The stats of the Weathered Burtgang are “on par” with the Curtana Animus and in my opinion, the stats of the Curtana Atma will only be “on par” with the Allagan Blade after upgrading the Curtana Atma with 1 Book of Strength, 1~2 Book(s) of Vitality and 1 Book of Parry.

Yes, the Curtana Atma is an upgradable weapon with which the means of upgrading its stats differ from upgrading the Masterworks Weapons. Basically, you are using the same weapon all the way through the upgrading progress, slightly increasing the stats with each book, so i understand that the iLevel doesn’t change along the way (and i think that this is the sole reason why SE decided to keep the iLevel all the way through, because you are still using the same weapon during the upgrading process).

But still, with all of this considered, making the Atma weapon iLevel 100 doesn’t really make any sense because of the difference in stats between the Atma (even after upgrading it with every available book), the Animus and the Weathered weapons.

But, this is my personal opnion. (^_^ ) Like i said in my previous post, it doesn’t really matter to me, since i’m going to get the Animus weapon anyway.

If it was 90, since it starts the same as Zenith, that wouldn't work. In all likelihood they couldn't make the ilvl dynamically change as you boosted stats. The only other option was for you to have to wait for all books to be finished to get any change at all.
