    Auction girl. Your idea (though I see why you'd want it) Is not for everyone. Its not the direction XIV is going.

    And your sig alone tells me why you'd want that model.

    It would be soso easy to go to typical "play another game".. "go outside".. "get a job" stuff. But my intention isn't anything like that. ^^;

    Its the best decision they can make, and just cause I have a lot of time to play this game, shouldn't make my opinion any less valid. My idea keeps the game fresh every 6 months (expansion) and gives new and old people something to do.

    Who doesn't want new content every 6 months?
    Horizontal growth leads to more complaints than vertical growth. As you increase the ranks, you make the lower ranks easier to get up there, reducing some of the lower ranks EXP needed per rank/level. This keeps new players in the game and able to catch up, and also keep the old players in the game exploring the new areas and items.

    Who wouldn't indeed. However the case, raising a level cap does not create new content by itself ... and new content does not require a level cap raise. Much of the additional content in FFXI that people loved did not require a level cap raise.

    So yes, I agree. I would love new major content every 6 months. But the Development Team doesn't need to raise the level cap every 6 months (or even every year) to do that.

    I'd say a balance of the two (horizontal and vertical) is obviously better, and imo what they've stated seems to strike that balance pretty well.

    1-2years gives enough time for some depth (*horizontal expansion) in the current (*future) content, and allows for expected vertical expansion by the playerbase at the same time. 6 months is simply too fast and/or meaningless for most.

    I disagree that it's the best decision that they can make. And quickly, @Kam, type of player doesn't necessarily make all of our opinions set in stone, I myself have quite a few 50s, and as you can see by my original post, I'd like a constant level cap. In any case, back to the subject at hand:

    New content every 6 months would be wonderful. New areas and items would also be wonderful. A level cap raise is not necessary for any of these things.

    Fresh content is great, but you don't need to throw out the old content to make it substantial and worth doing. I'm not sure how FFXI could have gotten stale or stagnant for you, personally, there was so much for me to do in XI that I had fun with, I actually regret not doing everything. But everyone's different, so I'm sure it could have gotten stale for some.

    While I respect your opinion, I disagree :P

    This is something I hate (and no I'm not the only one). Endgame up until this point has held little interest for me. The process of getting there is what I have enjoyed, and I'm in no hurry to get through it. But if a game became more focused on making endgame with a lot of content for all types of players and playstyles... I'd like to see that.

    Edit: Meant with all due respect to your opinion, appologies. *sleepy*
