Thats... not really how it works...
If you are rank 10 no matter how pwnage my Cure is if you go up and fight a rank 50 you're going to get flattened. But if you was in PT with the Rank 50 and he killed it and you stood there looking gorgeous, you'd reap the benefits, this is what happens now. You could /follow me and I could go around Nanawa or w/e, 1shotting mobs on my rank 50 and you'd get 300-400 SP per kill. Its insane and is a totally different subject to what is been spoke about in this thread..
This thread is about providing more SP(or soon to be EXP) for fighting things higher level, if you want to ensure that the higher SP dont get to rank 10's you put in a heavy penality for those below the party range, so that they dont get anything, i already suggested how, its simple math.
The problem lies with:
There is absolute no reason(or motivation), what so ever, to fight something higher than 10 levels than you. You wont get anymore SP, you wont get some mats you cant just get off something lower level, all mobs 60+ are just there for show and are completely and utter useless (Exluding NM's).
So why not provide more SP for being brave (or more skillful?)

i thought we were talking about were a rank 10 fights a rank 25 and receives heals from outside the party since the member being in the party would nerf the sp. my mistake.Thats... not really how it works...
