But the story quest also takes everyone to Gridania, so why isn't everyone congregating there too?Problem being is Ul'dah is a central point. The story quests lead you there. People will always gather there till they fix transportation methods, link the wards together, set up a world grouping system, etc etc. Spending 3 anima a day or walking 10-15mins to get to the "busy" town is a pain in the arse. And thats just getting to Ul'dah now you have to go back home.![]()

Yeah I know what ya mean RenRen, I really like Grid and I wouldn't mind spending more time up there. I do leaves up there just because it isn't over crowded. Also, it seems I'll be spending a lot of time in Grid anyway if they are making the changes to the Guild marks seeing that I am a Lancer, Conj and Archer. lololI don't know how, why, what and if (wha...?) did Ul'dah become the city-state where everyone has to live. That's pretty sad, because the other city-states are pretty cool too, even more than Ul'dah!
My suggestion is to take those features in Ul'dah that let the players to live in that city instead of Limsa and Gridania, and put those features in the other cities.
Man, I don't like the fact that everybody has to live in Ul'dah. In fact, everybody has to live in Eorzea.
Can't wait for them to make changes...
I'm just a bun boy, doing bun boy things.
Scrap MW add Auction house. Problem fixed.
I'm not a troll I'm just the voice of truth :P
This is only the reason this problem started. The reason it stays like this is because it is in a seller's best interest to sell their goods where people normally go to buy goods. It's the same reason you don't find many random stores or shops on the side of the road by themselves.Problem being is Ul'dah is a central point. The story quests lead you there. But even if the wards are linked or a linked AH is put into place, the congestion will still be roughly the same. This is most likely because (and I'm making a guess here, I haven't played the game in months) people shout for groups, trade, and other things mostly in Ul'dah too. People tend to congregate because of these offers as well. If there were some global chat channel, or just a linking city chat channel, I would place my bets it would resolve a lot of the congestion.
Yes I do have a My Little Pony sig because I'm not a complete loser who lives in his own little world, proclaiming something is stupid because I say so.

Even if a auction house system is added, it wouldn't fix anything. If they aren't linked, same problem.
My two craft jobs are Weaver and Leatherworker. I want to go to Gridania for Mastershop, but why go there if there's no materials to buy? I'd have to waste anima or run for 30 minutes+ back to Ul'dah to get the materials and run back to Gridania for Mastershop. It's very inconvenient.

Well, I guess it's a battle of wills.Even if a auction house system is added, it wouldn't fix anything. If they aren't linked, same problem.

Will Gatherers start putting up appropriate materials in the guild home-cities because they move faster, are in higher demand, and they can charge more?
--OR--
Will Crafters burn up Anima to teleport to the city with the materials and back to their guild home-city to take advantage of the Master facilities and the Guild Marks they'll earn?

I'd hope people would put materials I could buy in the market wards in Gridania. I am lazy. I don't want to waste anima or run from Uldah to Gridania.

But they won't put them there unless the crafters stay there and create a steady demand. So the question is how does the Development Team encourage that?
