Loot Restrictions On i90 and Above Gear/Weapons

So here's a small little rant, and maybe something could be done about this..but here it goes:

Leviathan Extreme, 5 clears so far. 3 out of the 5 the people didnt need themwhich were the SCH book , the SMN book and the WAR axe. Out of those each different group a party member who either didn;t have the class even leveled or had it around level 9 won the greed roll.

Most of these people never plan on leveling because they only had their sub class to 15 and nothing else leveled...

Is there any way a loot restriction can be placed for those who don't have the proper level character to be able to greed? I know this sounds more selfish but for the people who could actually use the items get screwed by those who have no intent on ever leveling them..

I think I would be happier if the loot tables reflected the party makeup. If there isn't a SMN in the party, her book won't drop, no brd no bow, etc. I don't think you will ever get a setup where you have restrictions on "you must be this high" to need/greed an item, which is probably for the best since everyone can be every job even if they choose not to. I take issue to the people who beg for a party to let them have a drop for an alt when there are several people with current mains who could use the item (for ex a sch asking for a helm for his blm when there are 3 blms in the party who want the item). Loot tables based on active party members I think is a more reasonable goal.

While I respect and understand your standpoint, i dont see a problme with gear being dropped for classes that arent there. For example, for people who want to farm the runs for alts, they would never get the chance to if they didnt have it properly geared to get in the instance. I'm cool with it dropping other weapons for people who already have the item and for classes who arent there, its the whole "LAWL i down even have that class leveled past 5. Oh look i got it, im out, later" and leaves the party. Just rude to me.

Everyone has the ability to level every class up if and when they choose to. Just because they don't have that class leveled yet doesn't mean they won't. Heck, that might even encourage them to level that class next.

In the end, if you want that particular loot, play as that class. If you aren't, then you have no more right to it than anyone else. Thems the rules.

I appreciate where you're coming from, but I prefer the system as it is, in fact I think its almost perfect. The way it is now gives everyone's different "greeds" equal priority.

One person might want it, like you do, for a leveled off class and another person might just want it for a collection, like I do...both are given an equal chance to win it because both are equality important to the two players. If the system was changed to give priority to one over the other it would basically be saying one player's wants are more important than another player's wants.

I'd recommend asking ahead to see if your group would be willing to let you snag a particularly piece, that usually works for me.

I sincerely hope I never have the 'pleasure' of grouping with you, then.

Time changes, you'll never expect anyone to not level their classes while they're still playing.

So nope, and yes, I cleared it myself, I have all the rights to roll for anything.

You won't get anywhere with this thread. In the same breath these people will also complain about having to party with you on your under geared alt class just so you have a "fair" chance at needing on an item rather than fighting with the babies that roll on everything "because they can" *eye roll". I really wish more people would learn themselves some common courtesy. What harm does it really do to you to pass on an item that someone can use and equip now on another class that you have no plans to level up? Think about it this way: someone is playing a DPS now trying to get their drop and also has a SCH. If you let them take that item now then once they get their DPS class drop now they will also be more helpful to future parties that is lacking a SCH (which in more cases than others most groups need a healer over another DPS class to fill up).
