Guild Wars 2 all the casting classes can move.

Only to an extent. There are plenty of spells which require you to remain rooted to the ground to cast though. Also, Guild Wars 2 is a bad example since the majority of skills work similar to weapon skills in FFXI and have no associated MP costs, just recast timers. The stronger skills DO require you to remain rooted though.

Black Mage is lucky in that their skills can hit very hard and they get several instant-cast skills which can hit hard too. 40% chance for an instant cast Fire 3 spell, Thundercloud buff giving you instant full damage on Thunder DoT and scathe to name some. They have plenty of tools to move and fire. Sure it can be tough, but no more than other classes have to deal with.

Melee can move and fight, but to do so requires that they have the right positioning on the mob for optimum DPS. Which is harder to do when you're dodging AoE. Bard can move and fight, but reduces their own DPS whenever they use their songs. Both of those types also require TP, which can drain fast when you're going heavy on the damage. Yes they get invigorate, but going crazy on a mob can drain even the best of them.

It should be noted at this point that yes, I have a Black Mage myself. I'm not talking without experience here.

This is the one aspect of being a caster which genuinely sucks. You can heal, buff and otherwise cast non-offensive magic without this restriction. At the very least it should automatically set your character to face the target at the point of casting the spell. You know, just like EVERY other DPS job. This particular issue is something which I agree DOES need addressing.

Also, it DOES turn your character. The problem you're having is it turns you for the start, you need to keep yourself facing, which isn't all that difficult anyways. If 10 years of MMO players can do it AND are 100% fine with it, why is it such a problem here? Also there's at least one fight in game where it would trivialize things.
