I only really wish Surecast would allow you to move while casting the next spell. The description does say that the next spell cannot be interrupted. Why should moving still interrupt it?

being a black mage i dont want this. we can cast and move with procs. thats enough. if a BLM needs to be able to move to play the class, they aren't doing ti right.

Mobile caster could be done, gameplay wise it'd just be a bard with a different flavor. Probably more suited for a thm alternate rather than redoing blm though. Keep the turret style for those who want the traditional style with the alternative for people who want to be action mage.
Balance wise though if there's a problem it just means numbers should be adjusted to account for movement rather than the mechanics themselves being flawed. A move while casting cooldown would be fine though.

Use Scathe. It's better than SMN's Ruin 2 dodge filler

to me it wouldn't be too difficult for them to change the spell interrupt to if you are moving during a cast the spell is dropped to half potency. it would allow finishing of the class and allow some dps while moving, but not allow the full results due to moving.
i still miss the original way it was though with full movement. that was much more fun than the static job it is now.

The class would be broken because BLM has the longest hardcast times. That's why it benefits greatly from Spell Speed, or why they nerfed Scathe (instant-cast, so you can use it on the move) from potency 120 to 100 along the way of patches.
The damage output is high otherwise, and move-intensive fights like Titan only require BLM players to learn the rhythm of boss mechanics, when to cast what and when not to because it would be a waste of time.
I laugh now every time I hear people say that BLM is not good in move-intensive fights. Between Scathe, Swiftcast, Manawall, and Aetherial Manipulation, BLM gets a lot of tools aside from just learning timing and positioning to make the most of their abilities. If a BLM is causing too little damage or dying a lot to boss mechanics, they just need more practice.

If there is any class that deserves to move while casting, it's healers! xD

Both Thm/Blm and Cjn/Whm used to be able to run and cast in 1.0
They removed it because it was deemed unfair for PVP, even though PvP wasn't even out yet.
2nd was because of the whole kiting seemed unfair, but there is no difference because everything that isn't a boss dies in 2 or 3 cast. What's the difference if you hit it with heavy it's still no going to be a threat, it's gonna die before it hits me.
There was absolutely no purpose to removing it, other than it make me very, very angry.
It should be brought back especially with fights like Titan.

this seems highly unlikely. it's not like blm can't do competitive damage on titan, because they can

I've seen some pretty good BLM in movement intensive fights. I play one as an alt and can tell you that it's all about anticipating what's coming so you know when and what to cast to maximize your damage. Needing full mobility while casting is, in my opinion, the lazy way out. It's the same for WHM, which used to be my main. I had to know what was coming so I knew when to cast my direct heals. It adds a layer of challenge to what would otherwise be a very boring class to play in either case.
