During the time where it was possible to cast while moving MP recovery only started while standing still. Move too much during a fight and you had MP problems. Oh, and you stopped the moment the spell animation started and could only start to move again after the animation ended.
What I don't understand is why the cast get interrupted when the target move behind you before the cast end. This was not in 1.0

Sometimes I wish you could though >.> From what I've noticed, they seem to be adding more fights where you move more often, really killing it for blm :/ Especially those few where you barely have enough time to cast before moving again.

It can break the game if the dev's aren't careful with movement speed etc with it. You can create a ranged dps that can solo everything thru kiting. It's something to be careful of.
for it to work, they would have to nerf all the damage output they originally had and maybe take away the mana regen (astrals) or at least reduce the effect by a lot... but then youd just be a Bard that uses magic instead of arrows.... so you would cease to be a black mage when you could just play bard.
manawall and scathe helps with keeping the dps up. I think BLM is pretty okay where it stand. Also i am sure at 3.0 when level cap increases BLM will get stuff to keep it up. maybe also some buffs. But I dont think full movement cast will work for BLM.
full movement casting, maybe damage reduction, and with unlimited mp is too op.

Without some major changes to the jon then yes it would, Think for a second, the only class that can attack, whilst dodging attacks is BRD, which has already had a slight nerf because of this.
Melee cannot attack whilst dodging most AoEs (bar cone where they just need to move to the side which in party based play there is only a few that would be a problem) so yes it could very well break the job.



BLM have instant and shortcast abilities so there's no point. BLM can also move slightly during casts and can cover short and long distances between casts.
It may be a loss of DPS but it's better than no DPS. A lot of BLM issues stem from being unable to properly use BLM to their full potential from what I've seen and noticed.
It would break the current design, yes. Would it be OP? Not at all. Yet this is kinda why I prefer RDM to be introduced or Blue Mage because it caters to people that just don't enjoy being planted while using spells.
A timed ability with a long CD that allowed them to cast and move at the same time might be a nice middle ground.
