I agree with the others in this thread. The vertical progression design of this game has made it so that in 90% of cases ilvl trumps all. This is very unfortunate but it's the current design of the game.

Materia melding the ilvl90 Helm may push it beyond the ilvl100 gear but you lose too much Vit for it to be better than the ilvl110. I believe the ilvl90 helm has 20 Vit while the ilvl110 has 28. Even if your going on the 1:5 rule that someone proposed earlier, you would need an increase of about 40 in a secondary stat to even consider it.

penta melded i90 with Materia IVs at best put it at 98ish if that. Parry is crap stats anyway since 70% of the time you just wasted a bunch of points, and by screwing yourself out of STR, you making parry even less useful. DET is the way to go.

And to OP, before u start thinking about BiS, maybe you should actually do the content, seeing as you havent done any EX or T5.

I'm not sure how that reads as angry, its just a suggestion. Theorycraft is fun and all, but you should at least do the content that those "BiS" list is designed for thats all. Though seeing how t6-9 has very little gear check, BiS is really just a fad.
