So if someone is new and they want to watch the cutscenes the argument is that they should use the party finder. Except that person is new. Which means that chances are they don't even know that the party finder is a feature and/or are intimidated by it. So it comes back circular to the problem of impatience within the duty finder further solidifying that intimidation because of a bad impression of a community. This is how successful games happen?

The Duty Roulette was created for the express purpose of getting high level players to continue to help leveling players complete their story content. Given that that's its whole purpose for existing and that's what players are getting rewarded for, those rewards need to be contingent on actually completing the content and not skipping over it. It should be a basic feature of Duty Roulette that in order to get any of the Roulette rewards you need to watch all cutscenes all the way through, and you need to complete the entire dungeon map. If you skip cutscenes or optional rooms, you'd still get the basic dungeon loot rewards, but shouldn't be eligible for the extra "helping people complete it" rewards, since in that case you aren't actually helping anyone complete it. You're not entitled to rewards for something you're refusing to do.

I think if they would fix that, so people aren't trying to speedrun through Roulette (which it's not designed for), then we'd get enough players actually playing the content and newcomers would get a chance to see it. Speedrunners would still be able to set up speedrun specific groups and get to race through dungeons as fast as they want. Just stop doing it through a feature designed for seeing the story.

entirely disagree. what happens when there are no newbies in the party running it? I've done cm, prae, and several low levels with absolutely no new people. forcing me to watch the cutscenes when there are no newbies would be ridiculous. as far as I know... the content for each dungeon is listed as objectives. you only complete the dungeon after accomplishing all the objectives. therefore, dr is already set up where you only get the reward for completing the content. and dr is not designed to help people watch the cs. its designed to help people complete the objectives.

The game doesn't even tell you about the party finder. The tutorial says to use DF, people are going to use it. If you feel differently, then either explain (nicely) to them that they could use PF to do story (but don't be surprised if they still watch CS in a DF), or go use it yourself for speed runs and wait until they can let you queue up a roulette as a party.

Also, to the one that said CS in DF is harassment, you need to learn what harassment means.
It's a trade off. They created the daily bonus to help alleviate queue times. Without the bonus, there would be zero reason for people to every do these again. You could do 10 minute WP runs and get 100 Phil tomes and 30 Myth tomes. Why would you ever PF a speed run of Prae?

Personally, I don't mind waiting, but it normally doesn't matter. Someone always gets impatient and starts the boss fights anyway.

Speed runners should use the party finder and specify that they want to speed run so they don't end up being jerks to other players and get crap like this:

I agree with others. New players should start a PF group asking for others that want to enjoy the story. Prae can take upwards of an extra half hour if you watch and read everything.
Yes you are right new players should use party finder to enjoy the story when the quest objective actually says "Use the Duty Finder to enter Castrum Meridianum."

    Brilliant...

I am sorry but PF is where you build a party if you expect to speed run it, not the other way around (imo of course).

That whole "new people should use PF to watch CS" is stupid cause most the time people expect the leader or starter of the group to know what they doing and lead the group which they can not cause they are new. It a storyline dungeon with cutscenes there a bound to be people that going to watch them if you think otherwise you are delusional this is not beginning of 2.0 anymore where they were the only dungeons to run. It even listed as "Duty Roulette: Main Scenario" meaning storyline dungeon.

I just remind such people that complaining and pushing people to skip the cs is a form of harassment, and they will be reported if the continue. Which if they do, I always do.

Maybe they could set it up like vote abandon, and if four players skip the CS it auto-skips it for everyone else.

Disagree. They should make it so that a ring prevents anyone from moving forward while people are watching the cutscene. And then give us trading cards to play while people watch the longer ones.

I may not watch the cutscenes anymore, but as a tank que'ing via Roulette for main scenario, I will -NOT- permit people to harass anyone who wants to watch a Cutscene. I'll sooner be kicked, yelled out, berated, etc... than to allow these self-rightous A-holes who que via Roulette to pressure a new player into lessening their experience.

If you want a speed run, get a Party Finder together for Speed Run. If you want a Speed Run Roulette, pray you get everyone who agrees with you. But that one person has the right to enjoy the cutscene just as much as you do to complete your duty. They even made it so that the roulette is only accessible after completion, so its' not like they're getting extra tomes for completion on their end
