I hope that PvP does get some work. I've always been an extremely casual pvp'er, but capture the flag type battles can be fun.
This game is a terrible fit for 4v4 arena/deathmatch gameplay, since it really highlights balance issues or technical problems (like LoS/positioning issues or the general delay ingrained into the combat system).
I feel like larger scale stuff like what they're planning for 2.3 with Frontlines or objective based stuff like WoW's battlegrounds would work a lot better in a game like this. Less of a focus on individual classes or compositions and more on people working together in larger groups to complete objectives.

I wasn't too impressed with the whole 4v4 pvp in Wolf's Den...just didn't really appeal too much to me.
Frontlines may be more promising, especially if it's larger scale as it seems to be (might make things more interesting and fun). I definitely think throwing in objectives can help improve it!

They don't remove it.they need room space on servers to bring stuff like individual house, or more content, well they can have that space by removing stuff nobody is using like PvP for example....
if they don't mention they removed it, nobody will mention it before a couple of weeks probably....
Yoshida already said that the current PvP arena is only a training arena for the real PvP content that is still coming

Tried once and hated it. NO Final Fantasy should have PvP.
I'll probably play pvp a bit more if it had multiple rounds before the match finishes, like 3 or 5 rounds per match.
But right now it's just one round and that's it. You'll need to requeue and wait for another party to form. That's too short.
Unless it already has that in higher-level matches and I don't know about it.
It really does need this. Can't wait for whatever it's called to be released... hopefully it won't have unnecessary (or too many) grouping-related restrictions.The main reason why PvP in games like WoW and GW2 are popular are the large-scale battles that don't "require" group coordination. Low turnout for arena style PvP was apparent in WoW from shortly after Arena seasons began. It's the exact same mentality why things like DF are so popular.
S.E just doesn't know how to do pvp.
FF = PVE,
PVP is something I did a few times, but it's my least liked thing to do in FFXIV
I did get my 10 / 3 wins last week challenge log.
