TERA and GW2 are both actually alot of fun. The only problem I had with GW was the lack of the trinity. They had "tank" classes but as they had no real way of holding hate, it was pretty much just a free for all. I think TERA has the formula right though. The classes are fun to play (love tanking on warrior) and the trinity works well. Idk why people think "old" means obsolete.
So many wise players on these forums.

Got bored of GW 2 by the time I hit 40, and I refuse to touch TERA after it went F2P. Also if your "old means obsolete" comment is referring to me calling this game's mechanics outdated it's because they are. There's a reason basically every mmo that's tried to copy WoW's outdated model has either shut down or gone F2P. The mechanics are older than WoW itself and it's long past overdue for someone to grow some balls make a actual new mmo rather than some boring WoW reskin. Why would anyone want to play a reskin of WoW with less content? Will never understand why developers think it's a good idea to copy WoW when for the past 9+ years everyone that's tried has failed. The only reason WoW is as successful as it is for the same reason the original Wii was successful. It was the first to advertise to a large untapped market. The only reason it continues to be successful is every dimwit developer misunderstands the reason for its success and just blindly copies it rather than trying to actually make something new and fun so the people are pretty much stranded there.TERA and GW2 are both actually alot of fun. The best action MMO I've played is actually Tera which has a strict Trinity. Games without clearly defined roles turn into clusterf*cks. The best example of that is Guild Wars 2 where you'll have 40 people soloing a boss.
In my opinion the best MMOs have the trinity. Outdated or not doesn't change the fact that it works, and works well. DPS queues are the only problem and that's because players don't take it upon themselves to do the tougher job.

They tried it with the original FF XVI. As example THM was a good DoT dealer, a good tank and the best healer in one class. People complained because the classes played all the same (except that AoE spells were only for DoM) and that they are missing the classic party roles. As a result the devs started to work on the job system.
