Each boss could drop like, 15 myth, 10 Soldiery. You get paid only after you beat the 3rd boss. If you stay for the whole thing, you get 45/30. If you only stay for 2 bosses, and bail, you get nothing. If you join in progress and fight 2 of the 3 bosses, you get 30/20. Tomes are paid after the 3rd boss.

Easy fix merge it with the system and remove the tick option and now people must continue from whatever group they get end of story. It is the best fix. Ya people will whine about it and possibly hurt the DF more but it is a solution.
