PS3-PS4 transfer

Some people are having problems with their upgrade codes not working. I know mine doesn't work and SE only gives you a generic response about it.

The upgrade code given from Mog Station will only produce an error if you already have downloaded the FFXIV: ARR software, and thus do not need it.
If you're receiving the error, you already have the software it is trying to download for you. More information can be found here.

Well see I have it for the PS3, and I know I get a free upgrade to PS4. I can start playing the full game on PS4 now? I just do the upgrade thing and I'm all set?

Yep, that is correct! Upgrading from PS3 to PS4 will grant you early access (which is live right now) and you can continue playing as normal!

Hmm... well when I try to play the software it tells me to input some code. "Cannot launch Final Fantasy XIV: A Real Reborn. Please register the promotion code included with your package or download."

Edit: I wasn't in the PS4 beta but I don't think that should matter based on what I heard.

I'm having the same problem. When I try to launch the game it tells me to put the code in.
When I put the code in ( from the Mog sta ) it says it has been used already. I'm getting the same error code as all of ya.

I followed the steps to upgrade from the ps3 to the 4. I did not participate in the beta. Can this be the problem?
Do I wait till Monday when the transfer is supposed to happen?

I have the same problem on one of my service accounts it says to enter the promo code that came with the game and for me I did and psn took it. Said everything was fine and downloaded the software. Go to launce same issue. Goes to launch the game and keeps giving me the same error. Can play on pc fine. Cannot play on ps4 on one of my service accounts. I opened a ticket with SE and was told they do not work on this sort of problem via email and was asked to call. I called and was told this is not something they can fix over the phone. lol

The code is just to download the software, so pay that no mind for now. It will not grant you play rights.

Just to confirm: You have registered a PS3 copy of FFXIV, went to the Mog Station, did the upgrade, and tried to play and are getting the error? Are you on the correct PSN account that you registered your FFXIV on?

Ignore the Beta 2 - have you already downloaded the FFXIV: ARR game from the PS4 PlayStation Store? Lots of people downloaded it because it was free, so if you have, that's why you'll get a "this has been used" error (because you already have it). If you upgraded from PS3 on Mog Station, then are you using the correct PSN account? It must be the same as you used on PS3, for it to recognize you have the rights to play.
