No one is trying to dispute them taking away the house after it is inactive for a period of time. 35 days is the problem, Its to short.Okay, I agree that 35 days is a bit extreme. But I think I know where SE is trying to point out. What if say 2 years from now, all the plots are sold on all active servers. And yet there is several houses that are left untouch cause people took breaks or quit the game. That house is taking up space in the server that could be used for something else or by another fc. They are trying to cycle out the houses that are unused so that people who are wanting that plot can take it.

As I mentioned in my original post. I agree 35 days is a bit extreme.
Though here is a suggestion. If one knows they are going on leave or might leave, why don't they add in a few other FC members that will be active and will check in on the house while you are gone. Then there are no problems at all.
Well yeah. The most glaring issue is the short time frame, which you agree is pretty dumb too. Anyone with any sense would agree, I'd hope. 90 days is much more reasonable since housing is a large investment that shouldn't be taken away so easily, and it coincides with major content patches. If wards are filling up with that set-up then they need to add more wards.Okay, I agree that 35 days is a bit extreme. But I think I know where SE is trying to point out. Edit: Players shouldn't have to work around blatantly stupid dev decisions. The devs should implement a less crappy system, which is what is being argued here.

Because, if the core group is gone for 35 days, they will come back to find one of the brand new people they had just invited is now the leader of their FC. It goes to the highest ranking active member. As I mentioned in my original post. I agree 35 days is a bit extreme.

I want to know what time scale people are on that they think slightly over a month is a "short" period of time.

Yeah I got that you agree with 35days being to short. Sorry you said something about 2 years and an inactive house. The only issue with adding in players to a FC are they coming in for housing, Friendship, Raiding, or just to have a FC until they find better? Will they stay until you and whoever else returns? Also someone said that if you don't return after so many days then the Leadership is passed on and that you could lose your house and FC.As I mentioned in my original post. I agree 35 days is a bit extreme.

I have friends and we all have different FCs, but most of us are in the same Linkshell. Me personal I can't offer anyone anything Playing wise. I have a static as most do not require entry into a FC. If it comes down to it in the end that SE will not at least raise the time period then I will just have to continue to pay a monthly sub and login at least once if I'm taking a break. Some of the people in my FC that left said they will return, but with 4 of them playing ESO together I doubt it will be anytime soon.
Ok for one I don't have any financial issues I'm good. But what happens if someone has a FC and its just them left their mates took a break, He says I'll unsub for 30days and just resub before the 35th day so I don't lose my house. Well 25 days into the 35days the guy loses his Job and has to make a choice pay real bills like an adult or pay for a video game. 35 days in an adults world isn't very long. I moved from Florida to Washington and went 3 months without internet that could handle FFXI Because stupid Century Link has crap internet service, so I had to wait 3 months to find a new place to get Wave Broadband.

I can see 60 or 90 days not 35. Regardless they still need to beef up the servers or give housing to include personal separate servers.

I'm glad they are trying to do something to ensure the wards remain full with active players. 35 days might be too short (personally I'm fine with it) but anything longer than 90 days and they are going to miss the mark on keeping a ward feeling active. Maybe they could automatically just put up the plot up for sale and then only reclaim the house if there was an actual buyer (potentially putting the sold price into the inactive FCs bank). There's no reason to reclaim it unless there's a demand for the plot by an active FC.
There's actually a number of ways to look at it being a short period of time. The most prevalent is for financial outlooks. There are players who are a little tight on their budget, yet find the $10-15 a worthwhile expenditure for entertainment, that would definitely feel that a month is short. Most of the time, we aren't paid by the day. Normal pay periods are twice a month, of which perhaps much of it goes to higher priority responsibilities. Sometimes, they have to take breaks, and when you live by paycheck, there are going to be infrequent periods of time (often a month or so because of pay periods) that you can't really afford to pay for entertainment. /datlife
Otherwise, there are situations like children, especially newborns, where periods of time are going to be practically every second of the day involving responsibilities pertaining to family/kids. School/finals/etc are often another one. Very small FCs, especially ones that only consist of RL friends/family, will run into these exact situations from time to time.
