I don't think you understand the purpose of a high-end rig. It's not just to get max settings. Any mid-range rig can get max settings and 40-60 FPS out of it. That's perfectly fine for most people, but that's not the purpose of building a high-end rig. If that's all we wanted, we wouldn't bother spending thousands more. I take it you've never played a game at 120 FPS, or tried 3D, or tried triple monitor, or tried to record on FRAPS without so much as losing a point of FPS. No? Then you're the average gamer. Your purpose is different from ours.

So you ask, what was the point in comparing them then? Well, you claimed the PS4 was equivalent to a high-end rig. It's not. Until it can run the game at 120 FPS on max settings, play it in 3D at 60 FPS, run it at 2560x1440, or run it on three 1920x1080 screens, it's not equivalent at all.

Besides, I think it's funny you guys completely ignored the part where I said "the PS4 is more than enough for this game." Am I hating on the PS4? No. I'm buying one so I can play at my apartment. I know how crappy the PS3 version is because I play on the PS3 too when I'm not at home (5 days out of the week). Doesn't change the fact that the PS4 isn't equivalent to a high-end rig, because it can't do the things a high-end rig can. It can do the things a mid-range rig can.
