Watch it require Archer lvl30 and Arcanist lvl15. Because they'd probably make it into a pet class, just so they don't have to add Beastmaster in later.
How would Ranger even work? How would it not play exactly like Bard?
Oh, that's right. It will play exactly like Bard and be stronger because songs are actually weaker in damage dealing (as they do no damage).
Ranger would probably have similar attacks, but also use magic.
Hmm, well first you would need to reduce the DPS output of the bard, but up the song effects on others. Slight tweak there. Then I would give the ranger a pet to help tank/DPS just a tad as a sort of stance. Have a no-pet stance for pure ranged DPS. That would be a good starter. The DPS output should not be what the BLM is, but should be nice.
What ever they do when they add new jobs they better make the main class the new class so there arent insta 50s running around. If ranger does come I would like to have more dots and/or elemental arrows. But not done so expensively like in 11.
How do you lower DPS output of Bard considering it's just Archer with a soul crystal? That lowers Ranger DPS. Not to mention it would play like Archer with 5-10 more job skills. Maybe if Ranger was based off a different class from Bard altogether, then it could work.Hmm, well first you would need to reduce the DPS output of the bard, but up the song effects on others. Crossbow only class maybe. Slower attack speed, stronger shots? I don't know. I don't think Ranger should be introduced at all given that Musketeer will happen.
For all we know ranger could be the base class which could lead to musketeer.
Fyi, ninja=assassin...and clearly it's a ninja, where did the idea of theft come from? O_o;
Just don't know where SE is gonna put the role, dps or tank.
Why? Cuz' in ffxi, although ninja is a dps, but players were able to use it as a tank, which means there's potential in the skill sets. (utsusemi ftw)
At is end it really depends on how SE gonna define Ninja.
I personally would like to see the following, if possible.
Ninja, tank
Samurai, close dps
musketeer, range dps
