So if that many people are using lag as an excuse it would suggest there could possible be lag, now I don't lag very much anymore, but it does still happen and when it does it makes fights like Titan unplayable.

I'm pretty sure you're not new to MMORPGs, lots of people use x as an excuse doesn't always mean it's true. People started using lag as an excuse in Garuda HM and Garuda Ex, once people got better at it that suddenly stopped. People used lag as an excuse in Turn 1.

So yes, lag can be a problem but people do tend to use it as an excuse a lot, think that was the point.

Yea no doubt, all I am saying though is that in Titan any lag and you are pretty much a liability to your group, its less of a case for other fights.

I quit back in Nov because of the server lag and position polling in this game, its a fair bit better than it was but we are still plagued by "EU" servers being in Canada.

That lag could be coming from anywhere really and for many people, especially those on PS3 who can't use VPN they don't have much choice.

I really like Titan to be honest.
The fight is a good test to see if someone is able to do his job while dodging at same time,if he can follow a patern normaly.
I'm really sad to see how much people fail on this fight to be honest.Really dynamic fight.

I have to call BS on that totally. I know people who have beaten twintania, have leviathan ex on farm now and working thru 2nd coil of bahamut that wont touch titan with a 10 foot pole cause they can barely squeak through it cause of latency issues.

Titan means jack shit in any way shape or form.

All raid content from Extreme Primals to Coil is indeed a test of your skill and if you know your job - Twintania has more to dodge than Titan in the long run and is far less forgiving to the point if you so much as touch the wall in any phase you'll instantly die. Leviathan Ex is the easiest extreme primal. So you may know people who have issues with Titan but that doesn't mean what he says is "BS" because what he says is generally true - If you have no skill, you won't be completing anything, lag or not.

I think we have a lack of communication I firmly am of the mind that Titan at its core takes NO SKILL AT ALL to complete, its takes having no latency and 7 other people who have memorized it. Its literally just moving out of shit and praying you have no lag. That to me is the basest form of a fight. It doesn't require you to think, you could have a trained chimp do it. I dont agree with people saying Titan is a test of skill....because its not.

All fights in the game are scripted to some extent with the possible exception of mog/mog ex. (Have not done the new coil yet). Even mog ex becomes predictable once you do it long enough.

As mentioned before titan can be done as a pure reflex fight as long as you don't lag horribly. If you are indeed lagging that badly, then you are going to struggle with other fights as well (divebombs, Levi slam and dive, eruptions).

The reason I'm suspecting you are isolating titan as the only fight with memorization is the unforgiving one shot mechanics. This however does not mean you should get hit by other mechanics just because it does not 1 hit ko. Even if you are able to recover, you are putting am unnecessary strain on your healers mana. If lag is the problem then fix it and don't blame the fight.

I have played with players who don't lag and are able to dodge divebombs perfectly but still panic and mess up during landslides and bombs. Titan does require skill, just a kind that is more reflex based and able to handle many things at once.

Actually. Titan EX is kidda... plain once you memory his pattern, it always be the same, unlike Leviathan EX that he randomly change side.

I think that it may be more interesting if titan EX were all random pattern.

I'm not sure why people feel the need to come in the thread and say the fight is easy. You're missing the point. Try to go and clear it solo in DF. Then you'll actually see what people are talking about.
