Ok so reading along the issue is parsers may (and in some instances have) create(d) a negative environment for the community because the info can be used to single out a player based on performance. Right?

So how have tanks and healers survived this long without getting the banstick? Hell, you don't even need numbers. A healer that lacks proficiency or a tank that can't hold agro has headlined just as many threads in these forums (or more depending on who you ask) as any program that tracks DPS. As DPS seems to be what the parsing community is focused on. So looking at this, what makes the DPS market so... protective of its standings in a party?

I don't know that its any one role, some people just think being a snowflake and protecting their delicate feelings are more important than the other 7 peoples fun and time. Some people also eat crayons.

Well, sure. But I think his point is that a potentially failing DPS is harder to notice than a tank or healer. Sometimes you can tell for sure, like a BLM Spamming Blizzard III. Sometimes however, you can't tell so easily. I'm not saying this is the reason people are against it, but that was his point.

It's typically the really bad DPS who argue against parsing, because they know it will highlight how terrible they really are.

Parsers effect every role not just DPS. Yet it's easier to single out DPS because damage per second stands out more than the ways to single out a tank and healers.

Tanks can stack HP but after reaching the maximum for effective health anything above that is pointless. There's where damage reduction from stats and thread modifiers come into play.

Healers suffer from "over healing" and mana issues yet it's not as bad as the other two roles. If anything it's more that tanks die because the healer failed to put up proper buffs in time. I haven't done end game healing in a long time but that's the gist of what I remember and recall.

But yes currently there's a big fixation on tracking DPS because people want to rush and the only thing that can effectively do that and it is noticeable is DPS numbers. Yet you do still need Tanks to able to hold aggro and survive those big number of mobs and healers being able to keep up.

I wish I was bad enough to fall under that category.

Lie? You may wish to come with proof before making that accusation. This was never a conversation. You are bashing people, and i'm telling you that you're wrong. Plain and simple.

People want to rush because boss fights have DPS checks, particularly now in 2nd coil. Turn 8 for example requires you do around 1 million damage with an 11 minute enrage timer.

The amount of "anti-parser" people who are wearing full welfare i90 without a primal ex or coil drop in sight would sadly suggest you're right.
