Oh I see. Because it is kind of silly to need to pass trough 3-4 classes just to craft an item. I would prefer to kill mobs or do other stuff to get the ingredients rather than leveling up other classes.
Well, the idea is that you'll get the mats from other crafters, who are leveling other crafts. You can buy them from the market wards, or just ask other crafters/LS mates to help you out. The fact that you have to get other crafters to make stuff helps build the economy, and creates a community.
So the idea is that you won't be able to do everything yourself. That's on purpose.
Totally agree! Every time I want to craft a finalized item, it always forces me to use at least 3 classes and I usually have to level one of them up a bit before I can make all the reagents... Running to unexplored places to hunt some mobbie that drops the reagents is much more fun, and makes leveling your DoW / DoM more rewarding
Although, it is kind of neat how SE kept the crafting classes from relying on the battle classes. And I sometimes actually enjoy using various classes to move from raw materials to final product--though this is only fun and rewarding when you mass produce items, not so good for a quick 'I want to make this armor for my Gladiator...'
Generally, I've gotten used to measuring out the materials and always making at least 6 final products so that all the work and toiling doesn't go to waste ^^
