Will we be able to change Free Company names ever?

Well, that's cool that you kind of defined micro transactions in your own way, but as far as the actual definition of what they are, this would qualify as one.

yeah look they are classed as micro transactions but theres no need to worry your little cotton socks about the game becoming free to pay buy to win just yet people are only asking for fantasia name change and fc name change .. to my knowledge thats not going to push the game down the slide just yet!! start worrying when they abolish the sub fee and go pure free to play with massive content cash shops

I think people need to stop saying "I would pay for this" every time some time elapses and a feature they want isn't implemented. All it means is that they're more likely to charge you money for something that they could very well have otherwise added for in game currency (or even free!).

Case in point: Fantasia potions.
Second case in point: Extra retainers.

I'm surprised this hasn't descended into an "all micro transactions are the devil!" thread.

People always seem to think:

• Server transfers? "Somebody will scam me and then transfer to get away with it!"
• Name changes? "Somebody will scam me and then change their name to get away with it!"
• Appearance changes? "Somebody will scam me and then change their appearance to get away with it!"
• FC name changes? "An entire FC will scam me and then change their names, FC names, and appearances to get away with it!

When in reality it's actually:

• Server transfers? "Somebody will get to play with their friends without starting over."
• Name changes? "Somebody will finally get the name they want without starting over."
• Appearance changes? "Somebody will finally be able to look how they want without starting over."
• FC name changes? "A FC will finally get to change to a more preferable name without starting over."

I would love for SE to implement this in some way.

I also dislike the negativity people have towards players being able to change things, when in reality most can already be done. You can change basic looks of your character to make it unrecognizable enough (hair + eyebrows + tattoos), and you can swap servers and change name and swap back to old server, and you could with an incredibly large amount of work make a new FC with a different name. So if there is someone out to scam you, they can already do it.

For those who do not want to scam you, just let them be happy.

the retainer thing kinda stumped me .. well more there excuse for the cost more server space.. wtf .. umm personal housing more server space???? but games like wow have been offering race change name change server change as a steady service that just makes that little extra now and then when some one wants to change .. i see no harm i se making money like this as long as it stay like this.. not cash shops

What I'm saying is: People are going about asking for things the wrong way. In their impatience, they are resorting to the whole "Let's throw money at it to get it faster" logic when, if people were even a little more patient, they could have asked for these things and had them added to the game module as free (with the price of your normal subscription at any rate) rewards for whatever. Hell, they already gave us Fantasia for free once. Who's to say they wouldn't have done so again down the line?

yeah but if you look at the sell fantasia thread it has been going for well over 6 months and they pull $2 for a extra retainer from where? .. so I'm not sure where the lets throw money at it logic has worked anyway!!

The idea for paying for extra retainers has been around since 1.0 launch (over 3 years ago). It wasn't some random thing they came up with.
