I think this is a rather absurd analogy. complaints about atma farming is nowhere near the same as a broken dungeon. let's be real with the complaints about atma farming. people just want to be able to see the finish line and hate that other people's finish lines came up faster than their own. that's the complaint. not that a dungeon is broken.

If hundreds of people were posting that a major plot progression quest was simply broken, they couldn't turn it in, mobs wouldn't spawn, etc. but it had worked for you when you tried, would you feel the need to jump in and ask what all the whiners were complaining about?

posting the same analogy a second time doesn't explain why your analogy works. on top of that, i'm not someone who has completed the atma quest. so i'm not rubbing it in anyone's face. I've gotten a grand total of 1 atma. but i'm not going to cry about it.

I haven't completed my atma quest. so therefore, I fall outside of your ridiculous analogy.

So you don't know? I'm seriously asking. You can have as much time as you want to think about it; how the quest works, the quality of the weapon you get, these are important to understanding the point here.

Again to fix this solution something like 0.1% drop rate increase per FATE completion will increase the chance. This being applied for the quest meaning 0.1% increases on all area's rather than just that one areas atma drop (easier for programmers) 10 FATE = 1% increase, 100 FATE = 10% increase, 1000 FATE = 100% increase. This way if you put in time and complete 1000 FATE you're bound to get this part of the zodiac weapon completed. Downside for this it's going to need another data being stored on serverside so it could cause extra process.

Still there are much harder task after this so once this part's done everyones just going to repeat the same for the next, and next, and so on.

ok! you don't understand anything about the game, that's fine. Usually critical thinking skills are not required for playing games like this, so you can just coast, as you've been doing.

The relic system, as of 2.1, at least, allowed players to get viable, though not BIS endgame weapons through a consistently repeatable, if long questline, without an element of randomness -- no drops to farm or anything like that. An un-zenithed relic, for many classes, was worse than Titan HM weapons, and even a Zenithed relic was worse than Primal Focus weapons for many classes, and, of course, Allagan weapons mostly beat everything. However, Titan HM means competing for a single random weapon out of twelve that may not drop no matter how often you run the instance, and both Primal Focus and BCOB5 were hard enough to be considered something to work toward, or even out of reach for some players.

Upon this examination of "a relic reborn" we can say the merits of going for a relic in 2.0/2.1 over other comparable weapons are consistency and lack of competition, in exchange for requiring a lot of time and labor. Given this we can consider relics as an endgame option for people who don't have the time, patience or interest to run tons of parties looking for a single weapon drop and competing over upgrade items, or simply have other things competing for time that would be spent trying for a needed drop, but are willing to put in time to otherwise earn a weapon to start taking on harder content with.

GIVEN THE EXTREME RNG COMPONENT OF UP IN ARMS, WITH MULTIPLE PLAYERS REPORTING A GRIND OF DOZENS OR HUNDREDS OF HOURS FOR THEIR ATMA, THIS QUESTLINE CAN BE CONSIDERED A FAILURE IN LIGHT OF "A RELIC REBORN."

And of course i care, i like this game. I like it enough to expect better from developers who have proven they can design better content, and i care enough to try to get folks to understand exactly why this is an issue when dum-dums keep helpfully suggesting that IF YOU DON'T LIKE THE RNG, JUST GO FARM A WEAPON FROM LEVIATHAN AND COMPETE FOR THE UPGRADE ITEMS THAT RARELY DROP

I don't get why so much fuss about it, Atma is not even required, If you don't like it, just don't do it. There are other choices, like Farm Leviathan or even Turn 5 now that it is spammable.

You want even more powerful weapons?, do Second Coils of Bahamut, grab your unidentified tomes and buy them from Rowena. It's all about choices really, I see Atmas more like an alternative way of getting a better weapon for people that don't like to raid.

But by no means whatsoever is it a requirement.
