People that say RNG is a part of RPGs are forgetting modern RPGs... This isn't 10 years ago, heck, it isn't even 5 years ago. Please stop making that comparison.

Thing is FF is way closer to "heck 5 years ago" than any other series, and you should know it.

<- after 5 hours zero atma, I don't care, it's RNG and I'll just keep trying OR don't bother anymore. It's not like my life depends on atma (which seemingly many peoples lives do)

I don't see a lot of people complaining about the time investment (i think it's great to have long-term goals!)
It just seems that people don't like the random nature of the grind. The people feel like they aren't making any progress when a day's worth of repetition hasn't gottem them any closer to their goal.

Nobody is complaining that the bear mount is hard to get because it's something that they can work on with clear progress.

There's very little comments about the actual grind on these threads.

Jokes aside, I don't see myself grinding more FATEs for my other Zenith anytime soon, and I wonder how they'll deal with it when more players get their weapons and FATEs aren't as crowded again.

No offense spanky, but I'm really sick of people saying "It only tooke me X hours and I'm done, it's really NOT TOO BAD!". Now if a few people said, "I've spent 30 hours on 2 drops and I LOVE this system, then that would be what I consider love for the new system.

This is not the point. TC is talking as if it was mandatory to grind in other FFs.

You're right, the RNG is a lot more lenient nowadays, almost to the point of where it feels like it doesn't exist.

I'm glad they brought back a little bit of the old-school RNG frustation...the entitlement generation can use a good ole'-fashioned ass whoopin' lol

ARR is very much many people's first FF Game and it's not even a real FF Game when you truly analyze it. While yes those who have played FF before say "they never grinded" completely forgot about it or don't remember it because they didn't consider it grinding, every FF game is a grind fest, especially the supposed "BEST FF TO EVER EXIST, FFVII!" - If you wanted multiple rare materia, you had to grind AP to master and 'clone' the materia.

You needed to grind and boost the materia's stats.
You needed to grind in Golden Saucer to get Cloud's Omnislash.
You needed to grind Side Quests to get x's ultimate limit break.
You needed to grind Chocobo Breeding and Monsters for a Golden Chocobo.

Then again, most people just used a Game Shark. Every FF game has a grind fest to it in some area, most RPGs in general do.

Yep lol, notice how despite the "THIS SUCKS" people are zerging the hell out of FATEs in every zone? Yeah, this generation doesn't know what MMOs truly were like. "OH but it's better now that's arcahic and shouldn't exist!"

Funny how MMOs with a 'grind' like this lasted much longer than many new MMOs without it. Even WoW was designed in the "Grind Era".
