My two cents on the ATMA Issue

Maybe I should clarify something for you. "Square-Enix" made a typo error in the for the "Up in Arms" quest where they listed 2 atma being in the same area. It\\'s cool though, I\\'m chalking all this hostility up to "atma-envy". Its a condition where people act like needy children a la that rich bitch from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Maybe the only way to deal with said illness is to throw the infected into a furnace and hope for the best.

You made a direct and personal attack at someone using "Hooked On Phonics" as fodder to try to belittle that person when you had misspelled a very easy word just a post before. I was simply pointing out the irony in this and saying that you shouldn't attack people for having differing opinions, too which you turn around and indirectly call me a little bitch (her name is Veruca Salt btw).

So i'm at 27? Hours right now... i'm still haven't GOT ONE SINGLE DROP... can anyone BLAME me for getting just the slightest bit frustrated & mad when i see people leave every other hour with a atma, And yet i'm here keeping the party alive probably giving the most effort out of most people. God... i really start to hate this stupid quest with a firey passion! :@

Imagine how it feels, going 22 hours now and not seeing a single drop. This is the very first thing in this game that has made me think of unsubbing.

I would have to agree that the tedious, and relentless attempt for me personally gaining one single quest item(atma) has failed. I have been to many zones, with parties, without parties, solo, dueling with chocobo, etc. Ive used my WAR zenith and WHM Zenith. I have loged 15+ hours. I know there are others like me that have logged more. We are asking ourselves if these items truely exist. My brother got his yesterday. he logged about 15 total hours and got his weapon done. How can this be any fair, for content I'm paying monthly for? Where is there any skill in running around level 1 -20 fates.... something that doesn't even make my chocobo leveling exp, or seals farming worth the time. I could understand killing 6000 mobs, I would actually be making progress. This is not and I'm tired of doing fates. This is ridiculous and I'm starting to loose faith in this game. Change the drop rate, or I'm quitting. Glad for the other supporters out there. WHo have truly logged the hours as I have.

27 here, No atma to show, i'm really not sure how i ever will get all 12 at this rate. I'm very frustrated & disappointed right now. And the funny thing was i actually saw someone complain he didn't get a atma in two hours today. i was like, gtfo!!!!!

And those people that say its so easy, should walk a few hours in my shoes, or even yours and they'll talk a different game.

I kinda feel the personal attacks didn't start with me, but I just feel as an older gamer (29), that the younger generation seeks immediate satisfaction in almost all walks of life. When I responded to Veruca, it was on the point of reading comprehension in reference to my post. Veruca seemed to insert the word "accomplishment" in to my post while misinterpreting what I was trying to say. Making fun of someone for their spelling is what people who don't have the ability to come up with a coherent thought do on the internet. I was also attacked by several people for having a different opinion. Its amazing to me that people want you to think they're open-minded right up until they disagree with you. I'm honestly just perturbed that people feel that they can change the perimeters of the quest bye saying that its unfair.

And like i said before, i rather have something hard that challenges me as a player, That might take me weeks, months, but at the same time its fun, where i can see progression, as in. i'm getting better, there is none here, Congratz to the lucky people out there but do the math with me, lets round it out to a even number, 25 hours 0 atma's lets just say i found one, which i didn't i need to find 11 more! thats 300 hours in total!

And once again, 300 hours meh, thats oke with me if it was hard & Fun, but you can't disagree with me on the part that this stupid quest is nothing more then a dice that is rolling and you just have to be lucky enough to get the drops. Nothing more nothing less, no skill involved what so ever.

And just saying, Generation has really nothing to do with this. Like most people say they rather do 1000-1500 fates with the garantee they get this crap then just to have a lucky day. Sure there might be so whiney kids out there, but don't think older people don't show the same symptoms. And i do think a game is ment to be fun and some part of it should be hard and a challenge, but then once more. this is a challenge just like it is to get 12 dices throw them all and get the same number on all of them. Just a luck factor.

There is a difference to doing 500 fates and getting them all 12 and doing 500+ and getting none, wouldn't you agree?

If you would actually read the OP of this thread, you would see that not everyone is complaining because they can't have it right now. This isn't about immediate gratification. They are complaining because the quest is extremely boring and because it is extremely random.

It's one thing to have a quest that's going to take a long time. On the other hand, with this, when I try to work on it I find it extremely boring, which is compounded by the RNG component. I see people who put in less effort than me and got their item, and combined with the fact that I'm already frustrated by doing something I don't enjoy, it makes me jealous that I've been wasting time and feel like things are unfair. If it was something that takes the same amount of time for everyone, I wouldn't mind being five days in and having one atma to show for it.
