It would be great if you could use a level appropriate class to grind the fates so you are at least getting something out of it. Level my BLM while collecting Atmas for my War? Awesome! Sitting there on my WAR pointlessly grinding fates for 0 return (not counting frustration) - no thanks.
b-b-b-but. i thought pple wanted content with .01% drop rate D;And once again there is a difference between something that takes skill to do and something that involves only LUCK. like i said, i've seen people get 3 atma's within a few hours yet i wasted 12 without a single drop.
Titan took me a few days becasue it was a pretty hard fight because people didn't know the patterns etc. so that took quite some time, that was fine with me. but something as stupid as this as its based on only luck, nothing else.
It sounds to me like you are saying that anything which does not produce immediate results is automatically the opposite of fun.
Even if my assumption is incorrect, let me highlight what I think the benefits are to this process.
1) No one has to compete with anyone else in the area for the drops unlike in a dungeon, where players not under agreement or in a static group have to compete for loot rolls.
2) No teams have to be assembled such as in a duty. This also avoids the "one and done" players who come for their drop and/or quest completion item, and then leave to go to the next fight.
3) There is no weekly lockout or reset so players can run FATEs as often as they like, and the player can start and stop at their leisure.

7 hours wasted in eastern shroud for 0 drops I now refuse to do this anymore. worst idea ever put into a game.
You know, if it was a fun dungeon(like i said before) or a fun fight, Sure! drops will come on time but when you are doing low level fates... come on SE!
I wasted weeks on items like Joyeuse, YinYang robe. Hours of other NMs that i camped for items often just for the lolz, i actually enjoyed that, but this is just horrible. Forcing low level content for a upgrade @ Max lv? And its not something that will take 10 hour(ish) no, by now i'm 15 hours in without a freaking drop!
Except that you're leaving it to RNG, which your quest can't be completed unless RNG favors you that day. People complained about Titan Hard mode when it came to the last step in getting the relic weapon restored, but Titan could be beaten by pure skill once you got the hang of it. Forcing RNG into a quest progression is horrible game design because you have zero control over the progression.
This word "challenge". You keep saying it, but I do not think it means what you think it means.because some people like a challenge. the relic you can get within 2-3 hours since all the duties are easy a heck. People wanted somethin that not everyone would be able to get within 1-2 weeks of them opening as to sustain the challenge of actually getting it. Like i said there are several different ways to get weapons that are just as good as your relic if not better. Heck, im doing fates for my relic when i wont even be using it when i get my other lvl100-110 weps. I enjoy the challenge of getting it and the satisfaction of succeeding.
