Really need to submit your problems with the template at the in-game bug report section or by submitting a proper ticket through the portal, as this seems to happen under specific circumstances and does not appear to be a global problem throughout the whole game. I just spammed FATE's in Dragonhead for nearly 3 hours on my laptop with no issues--no noticeable lag, crashes, or even screen tears. Asus G75VX running Win8.0, i7-3630QM, NV GTX670MX with the last Asus provided drivers (311 video, 6.01.7083 Sound). I haven't updated anything beyond the game, security software, and things like Java/Flash in months--not even Winupdates. Have had no problems that haven't been related to stability issues that needed to be addressed by either my ISP and their partners or SE with their servers or reported game bugs.
