    Is there a minimum gathering and/or perception rating? I've only half hearted fished for this one between DF queues. I've got a full set of HQ fishing gear, but no melds on it.

    Should be enough.
    This pecker is extremely elusive though, so expect to be fishing for him for a loooooooooooooong time.

    Yeah, I'm glad I kept mine. The sawfish is actually far far more annoying to catch than any of the big fish I've caught so far.

    Lucky you, I finally cought mine last weekend and sold it to the NPC as I thought that aside from completing my fishing log this fish would be useless.

    I've been hoarding my fish since 1.0. If it looks even marginally impressive, I'll keep as many of them as I can.
