So I've noticed an issue with the AoE visuals on my computer.
Anyone know why the AoE textures repeat for me? It drives me nuts, and sometimes effects play. I'd post it in bugs but I'm pretty sure it's just my cruddy laptop.
Thanks.

that's really odd.. i'd say a fresh install might fix it but A/ its all server side and B/ thats 10GB you have to redownload lol..
I can't even begin to speculate what is causing that

Do you mean the texture is remaining there after it's done?
Or that it's doing a pulsing wave?
If it's doing a pulsing wave and then going away it's working as intended, they changed the AOE indicator to appear > pulse > disappear as of 2.16;

If the texture isn't appearing correctly or is remaining on-screen, it seems most likely due to a GPU that doesn't meet the recommended graphics-memory requirement for FFXIV (causing the issue where it's not de-rendering it after drawing. In that it's having difficulty managing drawing/de-drawing sections of the scene.
However I could be wrong.

According to the screenshots, the AoEs are being displayed in two spots. I know for a fact that the Manor Clavinger can't cast two spells at once, for instance, so what's the second casting area doing there? It's not about the changed AoE. As for what to do, submit a bug report and get back to playing (tomorrow), that's about as much as you can do.

He means like it is repeating like for example, the Giant Knat's directional attack, it should only be one line, but there are two side by side.
Same with the haukke manor example, only 1 circle should be popping, but there is one on the boss and one beneath the player.
looking at the pic with the circle aoe.. it looks like they have 2 different textures.. one has a lighter border.. maybe these are actually the same aoe, like different layers.. and your GFX card/chip is having trouble putting them on top of eachother.. but yea.. bug report is the best thing you can do.. not in game.. on the bug reports section of this forum, with these screenshots.. i submitted a bug report and they fixed it in a patch

It's definitely worth posting in the bugs section in that case;
Make sure to use the Final Fantasy XIV - System Information tool before posting to send them your exact system information (as shown in the image).
And use the bug-report form!
Be clear, concise and detailed.

After much mulling, yea it's probably the GPU stress causing layers to not be intertwined.looking at the pic with the circle aoe.. it looks like they have 2 different textures.. one has a lighter border.. maybe these are actually the same aoe, like different layers.. and your GFX card/chip is having trouble putting them on top of eachother.. but yea.. bug report is the best thing you can do.. not in game.. on the bug reports section of this forum, with these screenshots.. i submitted a bug report and they fixed it in a patch
OP, band-fix for now will be to set all your graphical stuff to lowest. Or play around with play settings (window mode, full screen, etc.) and look for the least stressing type.
