A nice mix of instanced / open world stuff.
RNG only works if the item in question can also be obtained from other means (purchasing, crafting, etc). RNG should ONLY be used in instances where the founder can save time and/or money for the same benefit.
Mathematically, RNG should never be used for necessary items without some other system in place to guarantee everyone will eventually get what they need. Pure RNG yields a probability that some people will NEVER obtain anything. For example, if a chest drops 15 items and you need 1 of them, you have a 1 in 15 chance of getting it (assuming all items are weighted equally at a 6.6% droprate). This also means you have a 14 in 15 chance of NOT getting it (~93%). Assuming you opened this chest an infinite number of times, there always exist a chance of never obtaining the item you need because there's a chance that you will fall within that 93% each time. Yes this chance gets smaller and smaller each time you run said content, but it never becomes zero (plus you could never run something like Coil infinitely many times anyway :P). Thus, true RNG will always leave a portion of the playerbase out in the cold unfairly, with no way to ever progress (eliminating the point to playing the game and an inevitable loss of subscriptions).
Unless SE makes it so that every item necessary for progress has more than 1 way to be obtained, this game will not last long.
That does not take into account his ISP, Infrastructure, etc. you can have a oc-12 for 99% of your run to the server but if the "100 feet" from the router of the ISP to his house is 100k he is screwed.Without for a second excusing the architecture and server locations SE chose that are the source of persistent lag for many players, there are less expensive (and often more reliable) VPN options out there.
A tech savvy FC mate got me set up on a custom VPN built on a Digital Ocean 'Droplet'. That Droplet only costs $5 a month and has the capacity to cover 10-15 VPNs. One other FC mate and I share that Droplet so far. It has made a huge difference for me.
Nice find... but I echo Daiza Auvec's question... where did you find this?
Speaking of grinding and collecting items for the Zodiac weaponry, I've also been suspecting for a long while that for the new AF 2 gear, we might have to go hunt down a load of CT gear... or old DarkLight and lvl 60 gear... which we will trade in to Gerolt as "base" ingredients.
I mean, think about it... we have so much lvl 50 to 80 gear gear that we have obtained that it makes sense to eventually trade them in for something higher.
Just a thought.
And then you hit the A-hole parties that say item X is reserved for someone). I say sure, then laugh when I win it on a RNG anyway. Gee, maybe don't use the DF if you're reserving an item for a leech.
