Are we supposed to believe that the devs attempted their own boss and thought it was ok they couldn't complete it? Where is QA?It wasn't an error, it was just amazingly hard to figure out, mostly because the top FC simply did not release what they knew about twisters.
Before the turn 5 exploit that shut down progress for 2 week. FCs were hinting "we have a possible way to beat twin". But it was kept hush hush.
Bascially worlds first did not so much involve mechanics as it involve keeping their ego down and their traps shut.
BG defeated unnerf twisters. They were at 90% dodge rate so they claimed. And this is from "I think this is how twisters works".
If you QA something you knew exactly how it worked, it wouldn't be hard. Plus QA can instantly change their gear level i90 or test any phase of the fight separately.
I could beat twin if I had a QA machine and a straight hotline to the battle programer.
Too many egos here have shady memories of 2.0, should I requote the "Turn5 twisters" thread?

but First Legit Twintania was down after the twister nerf. Infact, 30 mins or so after ninja nerf.
Goodbye, Final Fantasy...

Before Twister nerf.
False. Blue Gartr was the first group to do it and the twister nerf was done right afterwards. They are the only group in the world with a legit pre-nerf kill.
The game was released on August 27th 2013. They got their first win Oct 26th. That's two months everyone. That's how long it took to get the first kill the last time around, and some people are legitimately saying 2 or 3 weeks here? I laugh at those numbers.
Actually their Twin kill video WAS NOT "legit". The last Dreadknight they get bugs out on them. The Paladin or Monk gets stunned by Twin but the Dreadknight just sits there for 20 entire seconds instead of one-shotting the stunned player like it was supposed to. Therefore no one got a legit kill before the Twister nerf.
Nothing against BG just saying they got their kill with a bugged out Dreadknight.
CONFIRMED BLUE GATER SUCKSActually their Twin kill video WAS NOT "legit". The last Dreadknight they get bugs out on them. You also do realize that Twintania was taken down for almost an entire month for 'bug fixes.'False. Blue Gartr was the first group to do it and the twister nerf was done right afterwards. They are the only group in the world with a legit pre-nerf kill.

That's hard to speculate, as those 3 weeks did not remove turns 1-4, myth cap (@300 then). Even if they did not practice twin, they were well along the way of gearing up for twin.
Twin is still not easy even with all the mechanics down, since her enrage makes it a simply dps race on top of all the stuff she throws at people.
But it's not a people all whinny at omfg twisters is impossible! This part is blatantly false. Twister was beaten completely in its un-nerf form.
T5 was buggy as heck, but it was proven to be false. If you knew the mechanics as hard as they were, it was beatable. The fact that the 1st rule of coil at ARR release was "Do not talk about coil". Simply made it harder to beat.
Can you imagine if Mr. Happy didn't youtube his stuff after every release? More then 90% of strategies are based on modified versions of Mr. Happy strats.
That was the bugged twin so that after dive bombs she did nothing and stand there. No one claimed world first on that. Only BG claimed world first, and Yoshi even confirmed it in his post.
Maintenance and Changes to the Binding Coil of Bahamut - Turn 5
FFXIV: ARR Producer and Director Yoshi-P here.
We're going to make a few adjustments to Turn 5 of the Binding Coil of Bahamut in today's maintenance, and so I'd like to take a moment to go over the details with you all.
But first, I have another important announcement to make. On October 26, 2013 (PDT), a group of daring adventurers on Excalibur has managed to clear all five turns of the Binding Coil!
This is a world-first, and we couldn't be more excited for you. Congratulations on a job well done!!!
Now then, let's take a look at the changes being made to Turn 5.
Adjustments to Twintania
Turn 5 has been closed several times due to critical bugs, and we've received a great deal of questions and feedback regarding this instance. We have a great deal of respect for our players who continue to take on this incredibly difficult battle.
The Binding Coil of Bahamut is the first endgame encounter we've had the opportunity to create for FFXIV: ARR. It has taught us a great deal about how to go about creating more exciting challenges in the future.
Because we've received so much feedback regarding this encounter, I've decided to make this announcement regarding fixes and adjustments to Twintania. Please also bear in mind that in order to implement these changes, we will be having maintenance today from 11:00 p.m. (PDT) / 6:00 (GMT) until 2:00 a.m. (PDT) / 9:00 (GMT).
Twintania Phase 2: Hygieia
In the second phase where players must engage the Hygieia, we have received a number of reports that when these enemies are defeated immediately after spawning, or are stunned at the moment they are defeated, on rare occasions these enemies would continue to persist with 0 HP. After a thorough investigation, we've discovered this was a critical bug from release that occurs when stunning an enemy that readies an action just as it's being defeated. You'll be happy to know that this bug has been fixed. I apologize for any trouble this may have caused.
Status Effects and Twintania's Firestorm
We've also received a great deal of feedback regarding Firestorm and the effect of status ailments on Firestorm.
Players caught within Firestorm will be immobilized and take damage over time. If they are unable to break out of the firestorm within a certain amount of time, they will be incapacitated. However, players who are caught within Firestorm will not be targeted by enemies. There have been many questions regarding this on the English forums and several videos as well, but the effects of Firestorm have both advantages and disadvantages, and it would not be considered an exploit to take advantage of the effects of Firestorm.
Having said that, the fact that status ailments are effective against Firestorm essentially takes away its disadvantages, which ultimately upsets the balance of this encounter. As we make overall adjustments to the difficulty of this encounter, this aspect of Firestorm will be changed along with Twister, as I'll explain in the next section.
Twintania's Twister
A number of players have asked if the mechanics of Twister are random, but as we have answered previously, this is not a random attack. That said, we believe the timing of this attack to be too unforgiving. Although we will be changing Firestorm, making it more difficult to handle, adjustments will be made to Twister so that the timing required to survive this attack is not quite so severe.
I apologize again for the sudden maintenance, but we feel these balance adjustments need to be made as quickly as possible.
We've learned a great deal creating the Binding Coil of Bahamut, and in the years to come, we will put this newfound knowledge to great use as we create more exciting encounters for our players.
We look forward to your continued support of FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn.
BG are Pride of West
