Pretty much this, so the cause for concern is unfounded yayIndeed, there are both allagan tomestones of soldiery and unidentified allagan tomestones. There are also i100 gear that are definitely the soldiery items, and are "weathered", and a normal version is 110.
The most likely, at this point, is that soldiery tomestone allow i100, allagan drop from coil, same as before, but on top of that we receive unidentified stone in coil (and only in coil), which are used to upgrade soldiery gear from 100 to 110. If it is indeed working like this, it is basically perfect. Can't wait for confirmation..

Expect 4-5 months before you see ppl running around in coil gear.
Just like it was back when most ppl didn't beat turn 1-4 let alone 5.
So let the RNG gods smite the dps and make it so that they'll have little to no gear drops!
Because there r 4 dps per group ( roughly )
Soooooooo if u can keep tht 4 ppl and give em badluck, you'll be hooking them as they'll be hoping for their drops to come soon.
Since thats half of the team, then thats like more than half the endgame playerbase.
Thus yoshi/ SE making lots of moniesss off of rng and ppl's hopes and dreams!
Just go grind yoshitomes and buy the body cuz it'll make u look new and fresh and ready for ur role in 2.2![]()
It's a big problem with lockouts. It's a good thing Coil rewards you with the best gears, the hardest content in the game should have the best gears.
On other hands, lockouts create situation where you won't be able to gear for 4 months straight. For all the shiet XI RNG systm got, at least you could farm Sky Gods and Sea (almost) all day.
Well, whatever, progresses are gonna be reset in 6 months for what matters. :P
Yeah, I agree. I'm glad that my worrying seems to have turned out to be overly pessimistic.Indeed, there are both allagan tomestones of soldiery and unidentified allagan tomestones. There are also i100 gear that are definitely the soldiery items, and are "weathered", and a normal version is 110.

Incidentally, the items that upgrade the Weathered equipment are probably the "Sands of Time" and "Oil of Time", Oil presumably being for the weapon. The description on them is "Born of Allagan ingenuity, this peculiar [sand/oil] is said to possess the power to turn back time." The Allagans get a namecheck, so they're probably related to Coil, and the effect they have in the flavour text seems like what you'd do to restore a 'Weathered' item.
Nice catch.Yeah, I agree. I'm glad that my worrying seems to have turned out to be overly pessimistic.

I was just looking to post this. Glad someone else caught this and thought the same. I wonder if this is their 'token' system we've been hoping for. It is pretty obvious the 'weathered' gear has upgraded versions of 110. We can pretty easily assume soldiery is the token system for 'weathered', as they start out at 100. This is also good reason for the ambiguity of the Dev's saying they 'aren't necessarily the same level' as allagan.Yeah, I agree. I'm glad that my worrying seems to have turned out to be overly pessimistic.

If all this is true then I tip my hat to SE for staying on the ball with all their changes. I guess we will have to wait and see how to obtain these Sands/Oils of time. We assume Coil since Allagan is in the name, but you never know.
As a guy who's still using CT pants on my main class due to never getting a pants drop for either of our caster dps, I hope there is a system in 2.2 that makes gearing slightly wasier

iirc the more of the crystal tower, couldn't the sand/oil of time be related to the allagan technology burried there ?Incidentally, the items that upgrade the Weathered equipment are probably the "Sands of Time" and "Oil of Time", Oil presumably being for the weapon.
