For me, the patch is done at the earliest hours of the 26th, so I wouldn't have time to download 2.2 while its going on (i'm pdt), but...maybe in different time zones, if they release 2.2 towards the end of this maintenance, people will have the time to download it, is what I think is going on. But I can't be sure unless I had some post that said the actual time they are releasing 2.2, not just date.
