    because i'm not into casting so that rules out sumoner, white mage, and black mage for me. i've also have no need to level paladin any further as i have warrior which I prefer. I would like new classes because I enjoy the lower level content more (pre i80) plus new play styles hopefully.

    plus - the musketeer symbol at Coral Tower has been teasing me since 1.0

    But how do you define features, as opposed to content.

    If every time they add content, they make previous content worth less, (but not worthless) then the net amount of content is not increased.

    If they added 3 new dungeons that dropped i75 gear, people wouldnt be lining up to run AK/WP/PS/HM-H/CM-H.

    People would just do CT, and the new dungeons.

    At first thought, I agreed with Youmadesca. Why in the world would more HM ilvl 55 dungeons be added??

    But I think it is to give more variety for tome farming, maybe.

    Also, I really hope they add some buffs or benefit to housing. Gardening looks cool.

    FFXI: The unending repetition of FFXI was dull. Finally Level 75 and capped EXP? Better not die. Better continue EXP grinding and get those proper Merits. Better grind that sub up. Better go do Sky for the ___th time and get those Crimson Breeches. Dynamis time. Same as last time. Same as next time. Pray you get the drops you want. Go stand at the same HNM camp you've been standing at for years waiting for that short window that happens every ___minutes/Hours/Days. Better grab the ToD on that NM you've seen and killed ___ times and never got a drop from.

    You want this sort of crap again:

    Spawns at (I-7) if the Overgrown Rose there has not been "disturbed" for 10 hours. After 10 hours have passed, the Overgrown Rose has a chance to despawn for the next 30 minutes and morph into Rose Garden. After 30 minutes have passed, if it has not done so already, Overgrown Rose will despawn, and morph into Rose Garden.
    If Rose Garden is left up without being killed long enough, Voluptuous Vilma should appear, however it is unknown how long it is required to be up.
    More than 4 hours have been tested camping Rose Garden without a sign of Voluptuous Vilma.
    Reported to have 1% HP/ tic Regen (Status Effect) during Sunny weather. Reported if Rose Garden spawns during Sunny weather that the Regen (Status Effect) will have a significant increase in potency.
    Susceptible to most enfeebles including Sleep, Paralyze, Bind and Gravity.
    Makes use of Vampiric Lash, stealing your positive buffs and transfering its enfeebles to you, keeping shadows or blink up is advised.
    In the event that the Overgrown Rose has been aggroed or touched in any way (including failed charms), the timer of 10 hours and 15 minutes will begin again.
    Like all monsters, it will only depop if it lost aggro while away from the area in which he spawns and roams.
    For example if you run in and Sleep Overgrown Rose then Warp out, the timer is reset but it does not depop.



    Sorry but FFXI and "fresh" does not compute.

    A feature is a new game feature that content can be added to in future patches. In 2.1 they added PVP, Reputation system for daily quests, 24 man capability, free company housing, aesthetician (I know someone who can waste hours here), and treasure hunting. I may have missed something. In 2.2 they are adding glamour system (again, I know someone who could spend hours transmogging in WoW, not to mention farming transmog/glamour gear will be a time sink), retainer ventures, adding new content to the emotes feature to enhance the social aspect of the game, gardening (which will eventually become an individual activity when player housing is released), and Echo buff to make dungeons that were once impossible for some players possible.


    Now think two, three more patches from now, when more features are added on top of this, along with the new content. This game is successful. Success means money. Money means more content for us. 2.0 and 2.1 were preplanned. Everything going forward will be whatever we want and whatever the development team can afford... which is a lot more than at 2.0 and definitely a lot more than 1.0.

    I agree with the op.

    Also, abyssea was pretty cool and rocking on my server. There was still plenty to do. Ah, how I loved those boss/af3/atma shouts. The bosses also required teamwork and an alliance in abyssea's early stages. XI was still active during the abyssea era, heck, brought some of my homies back.

    One of the biggest issues with ARR has been the server team and their catering to PS3. This is the reason FC housing came out before Individual. They aren't sure the servers can handle that many houses just yet...
