Fantasia to cost real money

I do agree with you that it would be much better if it was available in game in some capacity.
However, if many people are willing to purchase Fantasia with their money in addition to their subscription, from a business perspective it makes sense to simply do that. They could also argue the whole "more load on the server," which I don't know enough about to comment on.

$10 because I don't care enough about GC content to mindlessly do FATE or dungeon farming for seals. I'm tired of being an Elezen and want to go back to being a Lalafell ASAP. I also already used both my Fantasias because I hate being stuck on one single race.

So are Allagan Spear, Scepter, Sword and so on. Why don't we start paying real money to buy them then?
Or maybe Gerolt should ask for "Ten Dollar Essence Oil" to upgrade your Zodiak Sphairai? On Mog Station for 10$ each, 20% off if you buy three.

Because those weapons weren't given to us one time from a one time veteran reward. Comparing Phantasia demand to Allagan weapon demand is comparing apples to oranges. There's no possible way to get Phantasia as of yet. You can potentially get one weapon a week from Twintania and soon enough you can get all 9 in 1 day. Once you have all 9 then what? you're done with T5, there will be no more demand for the weapons. Phantasias will ALWAYS be in demand even when we have i500 equipment at level 75 cap.

There's no possible way to get Phantasia as of yet.

Only because devs don't want you to have it until you pay real money.

What's stopping devs adding Fantasia to every Merchant and Mender for 50k gil? To every Grand Company Quartermaster for seals? To every beast tribe vendor?
Instead of screaming, here take more my money! why not scream give me what I'm already paying for!
I feel like I'm already paying enough for a 'free' Fantasia now and then from in-game ways.

I don't mind people pay rl money for it, seems there's a lot of you hell bent on doing so. But I want to go to NPC and spend the in game currency I have no other use for to buy the item through my game play, if I wish to do so.

It's quite possible to donate to charity and still have a couple bucks left for an item we DON"T HAVE TO BUY. That Fantasia thread (and probably others like it on the other forums), is the only reason they are even offering Fantasia's again. There's literally hundreds of people, myself included, who told SE they'd be willing to pay for it if it meant we could get more. They're giving us what we asked for.

As much as I'm against paying for an extra retainer but fantasia is an another story. The item will not affect your gameplay and economy in general so it's up to your decision to throw out that few bucks

You don't have to buy housing either. Or glamour prisms. Why don't they cost RL money too to unlock then? I'd rather pay 10$ for a big house for example instead if slaving out for 100M gil.

You sound like SE is doing us any favour but allowing us throw RL money at them. When we already pay monthly. You don't realize it? You already paid enough (in my opinion, of course) in monthly subs for the past six months to receive a bottle of Fantasia straight into your Moogle Letterbox. And if six month worth of subs is not enough, I'm sure quite of few people have just resubbed for another three or six months. And what we get for that? 50 lousy free teleport tickets? 20k gil worth? I'd like to see Fantasia in the basket right next to them. And means to buy it in game, earning it throught game play.

Do I demand too much from SE? They don't have to put any development time into providing the item. It's already in game, all the effort they need to do is make a HTML page with a PayPal button. And they want to charge extra money for that?

No issues on this. Fantasia doesn't affect gameplay for anyone in any way. As it is, I already have 2 bottles taking up inventory slots.

In my eyes, SE is in fact doing me a favour. I told them I would be willing to pay for one if that's what it takes, and they gave me exactly what I asked for. Originally they had no plans to offer more Fantasia's. Because of that thread, and as I mentioned, the hundreds (maybe thousands) of people who said they wanted more and would be willing to pay, we are now getting the option for more. They're running a business. If a TON of your consumers are telling you they would be willing to pay for something new, they'd be stupid not to exploit that wish.

There's no other subscription game that gives away free character changes on a whim. This is their way of charging for that service. There are enough people that are willing to pay for it.
