So true. The problem is the player community, not the Roulette. Cutscenes watchers or not, people should take the time out to at least explain to the new players what to do in terms of fights in those areas. It's like...two sentences for each mechanic and takes like 20 seconds max to explain. Granted, there are new players who don't listen and that is frustrating. I can't count the number of times I've watched new people on Castrum runs try to run away from Livia in the first half of her fight and end up getting a cannon or two destroyed, despite us telling them to just stand in the middle and take the hits (since she hits really weakly and we can easily heal the small amount of damage she does.)...
I'm not sure where the community gets off assuming that everyone knows all the fights. Communication is awesome. I wish people did more of it.
They need to revisit the concept of cutscenes.
I do want to watch them, but NOT while I'm in a group that took time and/or effort to create. What if you only got the cutscenes when you get the quest and when you finish the dungeon???? I'm all about seeing the content in the game, but not in this manner ><

OP
You're getting paid 300 Philo's. Hush. You knew what you signed up for.
Attitude is half the game. If you can't get over yourself, you're not at the top.
Easy solution to these people (whom I assume watched cs when they themselves first went through it) is to vote kick the first mouth breather for harassment to start bagging on cs watchers and report them. Then you can follow up with asking if anyone else has a problem with it. Everyone paid for the game and you chose to get into ms knowing people will watch cs. I only queue ms if I feel like helping a group out, I could care less about phil tomes. If 5 to 7 mins of your time is SO valuable then why are you playing in the first place.

I always do the Main Story Roulette as a healer, and I tell them right away that as long as someone is in a cutscene, that I won't do a thing till they're out. I'm an i90 WHM, the other healer is almost always i50 something, so wipes proceed if they think I'm bluffing. I've been told several times that I've been reported for doing this, but I don't think I'm doing anything wrong.
All I can do is encourage more of the community to do the same. Kindness and patience can be contagious. Or at the very least, if the whole party is ok with letting the noobies watch cs's, the one who isn't will keep his mouth shut.
I don't think you're doing anything wrong by waiting your teammate, even if it's not about cutscenes sometimes people takes time to load the game even if they skip the cutscene and i've seen people engaging bosses without the tanks, what the hell?I always do the Main Story Roulette as a healer, and I tell them right away that as long as someone is in a cutscene, that I won't do a thing till they're out. This is not limited to Praetorium, even in these 4 man dungeons with cutscenes that don't take more than 15 seconds (like when the boss appears and "roawrrrrr!!!" to you) i've seen people getting locked out and the rest dying for not waiting, yeah i know sometimes they don't see it but there's a ready check feature for a reason.

eh as an i90 whm im more than happy to solo heal it while u want to sit out cuz someone else is watchign a cutscene.... u can do every boss fight in there w/ 4 ppl, and literally none of them need explaining unless like 7/8 of the ppl are new. So u can all watch ur cutscenes the first time while the rest of us do the dungeon... and if u feel like u missed out, you can run it again and fight the bosses since u dont need to watch the cutscenes again.... seems fair enough to me. Nothing says that if u miss the bosses cuz u were watching the cutscenes the first time, that you cant just do the dungeon again and fight them.

i88 tank, if a mage and 1or2 dps skip with me ill engage if someone is insisting on watching all the cs's
guessing i had 1 ps3 player today since we were always 7/8 and had to give him a min but since he was skipping i waited the extra 20-30s for them to catch up and get out of the cs
Eh... I disagree. The only cutscene that's particularly long is the last one. And since that one's after the final fight, it's not a problem if the vets all skip it.
I disagree entirely. The reason why people are jerks isn't because they're not getting paid enough to watch cutscenes. Story Roulette is actually a substantial payout for the time invested (assuming you skip), so all people see is that big fat reward and a bunch of trash content in the way. My idea is actually the opposite. Dock Story Roulette's payout heavily. It will become far less attractive as an income source and become more what its meant to be: a chance to play these dungeons and get rewarded a little extra for helping others. My personal idea is around 50. Combined with the 100 you get naturally, this makes it slightly better than Lowbie Roulette and competitive with High Level Dungeon Roulette.
