I actually been practicing lately not joining the fight if someone is impatient and starts it. You wanna start it without everyone thats fine but deal with the consequences of your actions for being impatient.

Simple solution: Do not queue for a story mode dungeon if you can't live with people following the story. The main intention of the roulette regarding story dungeons (which are already in a separate queue) is NOT to give you 300 philo tomes as quickly as possible. You should help others and as a reward you get more tomes than usual.
I wonder how the two story dungeons will be like after the next patch when Myth is the new Philo. A lot of people will rather play Coil 1 and 2 to get 90 items and Myth tomes than spending their time with tomes for DL gear.I hope the story first timers won't have bigger problems then than other players yelling at them for wanting to experience the story when it happens and not totally out of context in the Inn.
If the duties in question are testing your sanity, as they do for me, you should simply do what I do.
Don't do them.

I love prae prae in duty roulette - get free tomes there all the time. =) (Also we did the dungeon with 4 active people cause everyone else was watching cutscene soooo =)

To the people who complain about others making you/someone you know sit out of fights, here's all you have to do:
Instead of making a full premade to run with cutscenes, just take the person who needs it for the story, as well as 2-3 dps and queue together. You all wait for the new guy to watch his cutscenes before proceeding, so if the rest of the group starts without you, well, they're down on dps so it'll just take them forever. Did this with an fc member of mine a while ago (he was drg, another member came as drg, and I went as blm). I've never seen so many hands out at once on the electric dude's fight, and we were mocking them in fc chat the whole time, it was great.

let em wathc the cutscenes and miss the fight

To be fair, the same thing happens with Castrum runs in Roulette, and half the time you end up with the cannons accidentally destroyed and a tank who is kiting the colossi around while people try to burn them down normally.
The problem is the player community, not the Roulette. Cutscenes watchers or not, people should take the time out to at least explain to the new players what to do in terms of fights in those areas. It's like...two sentences for each mechanic and takes like 20 seconds max to explain. Granted, there are new players who don't listen and that is frustrating. I can't count the number of times I've watched new people on Castrum runs try to run away from Livia in the first half of her fight and end up getting a cannon or two destroyed, despite us telling them to just stand in the middle and take the hits (since she hits really weakly and we can easily heal the small amount of damage she does.) Like, I know as a DPS or Healer your first instinct is to run away if you get aggro, but you can't do that in that fight.
Honestly, I prefer Praetorium to Castrum though. The music, the fights, everything is just more fun in it than Castrum. Castrum seems like an obnoxious slog, whereas Praetorium I get to generally loosen up and have fun, plus its funny to get to spam Holy against the final boss, since he's a pushover.

People who bitch about people watching cutscenes are the height of pathetic. Face it, you're in an online game, grinding for gear, your time is not as fcking valuble as you think it is.
Get over yourself.
